What is the part that holds the wheele to the fork called? I suppose you can put your feet on them. I ran across one in very good condition and it is missing this part.

SOURCE: Mongoose bmx fork

There will be a second half that runs on top of the bearings and this is held in place by a big nut that screws on the threaded bit of the fork. by your film you are missing parts.

Please i just bought a mongoose ledge 2.1 bike today and it became locked, that is the tyers cant move because is very stiff, please what do i do so that it can move?

Still not clear enough to advise you. It would be extremely unusual for both wheels (not tires) to not be able to move. I strongly advise that you take the bike to a bike shop or bike co-op for help. If you have any more details or questions please EDIT the question above or Comment on this answer, rather than putting in another question.

Front wheel shakes bad

Hi,food for thought, have you checked that the wheele bearing is not worn(put bike on centre stand hold wheele on tyre 6 clock and pull with one hand and push with other hand)and see if you can feel eney play in the bearing,if so replace, also with bike still on back wheele spine wheele and see if it pins freely and that the discs are not warped,if not then if there is a fork brace check that it is tight ,check that the head racers are not loose or worn, with bike still on centre stand hold weele with one hand and front brake with other hand push and pull with wheele strate towards and away from bike and feel for play if there is try tightening,if not, then turn front forks left and right still holding the forks and wheele in same place do this slowly and when the wheele gose past the centre piont(strate)feel for eney notchy ness,if not bearing should be ok,if there is notchy ness replace,if its none of these I would get the wheele rechecked that it was balanced right, all the best hope you get to the bottom of the problem.

Quick releases skewers will hold the wheel just fine if tightened properly. They're SUPPOSED TO dig into the paint.

Deralleur and brake cables will stretch or break-in with initial use and always require some tweaking early on. Some shops build that expected tune-up into their sales offering.

I am trying to put on the front wheel but it is not fitting, there is a washer tightened on each side towards the wheel. Am I supposed to take those off before trying to put the wheel on? Otherwise, what...

If you're talking about the washers which can screw in and out you don't take them off. They hold the ball-bearings, that the axle turns on, in place. If you have moved them you should adjust them so that when you hold the wheel by the axle at each side the weight of the valve, for pumping the wheel, moves to the bottom i.e. next the ground. Any tighter is too tight any looser is too loose. You need to pull he forks of the bike frame slightly apart to get the wheel to fit between them.

If you're talking about washers that can pull off rather than screw off they can be taken off and put on the axle outside the forks next the nuts which hold the wheel on.

In putting together my 26"

Loosen both nuts on front wheel.
Stand bike straight up, or set bike upside down on seat and handlebars.
With fingers on fork and thumb on wheel, pull wheel so it is centered on fork.

Now tighten one nut part way. Keep holding wheel.
You may need somebody to help.
Then tighten other nut.
Go back to fist nut and tighten a bit more.
Repeat back and forth tightening until nuts are tight and wheel is in center of fork.
