SOURCE: i need motor brushes for campbell hausfeld WL611105AJ air comp.

If you can find a match to the brushes that came out of the motor they will work. When I say match, I mean the size. Height, width and depth, length only needs to be close to allow for wear over time. The longer the brush the more wear you will get. If you can't find the exact size then you can always file a larger brush to fit. I just had to do that for a small motor in my shop-vac, works great. Also another consideration is how the line coming off the back of the brush connects to the Stator. If you can't match the connector soldering it is fine or crimp the appropriate connector to it. Beyond those two elements brushes are pretty much the same.

Your biggest problem is finding an assortment of brushes. Some hardware stores will carry some, (check the bins with all the small nut, bolts and other connectors), also automotive parts stores carry them, (for alternators),. Your best bet would be an electric motor repair shop.
Good luck

SOURCE: Campbell Hausfeld Air Compressor won't start

The compressor starting problem is common to most of the small portable compressors. Poor design and undersized components are to blame. If you have one of these units i suggest looking into a product called the Smart Start by Conrader Valves. It is interchangeable with the standard air filters and allows the compressor to start without fail. check it out-

Piston ring for campbell WL506206AI

Most parts lists only show the motor/pump assy (WL373000AJ) for your compressor. Campbell-Hausfeld does however have a breakdown of the motor assy and shows the piston/cylinder assy (WL210300SJ) being available for your compressor. It would be available from any C-H repair center or online at sites like That is the only way the piston, piston ring and cylinder parts are available, you cannot buy just the piston ring even though that's the main fail part in this assembly.

My 5 hp campbell hausfeld model hl 7017 pumps up to pressure but when it drops the motor starts but the compressor wont turn the belt just slips until pressure drops off to about 30 psi

Your tank check valve is not closing properly. It's a valve on the tank where the air line from the pump head attaches, It allows air in but not back out of the tank through the pump. When the pressure swtich turns the motor off, valve on the pressure switch lets the air out of the head so the motor can restart without any pressure in the pump head when the pressure in the tank drops. On rare occasion, you can clean the check valve out and it'll work again, more often than not you have to replace it.

Can't find reed valve replacements for 1999 campbell hausfeld?

I am a C-H service center and using the model number VS5006 I got the following:
- Your Pump Part Number was originally VS260000KB, now it's VS260000SJ. That's the complete pump and suggested retail is $199.99.
- The valve kit for that pump is part number VS261000AJ. The kit includes all the gaskets, reed valves and valve plates between the head and cylinder, suggested retail is $33.80.
You can go to and, using the model number VS5006, see a breakdown of your compressor or, using VS260000SJ, see a breakdown of the pump to make sure we're talking about the same air compressor and pump. The parts are available through them or you can use the part numbers to search other sites for better prices.

Air compressor not working, campbell, hausfield turns on but doesn't make loud noise it used to seems like it is not kicking in. It just sounds like a loud vacuum cleaner. Campbell Hausfeld WL6501 13...

If your motor is running and not the pump, the malfunction is either in the pump or the coupling between the motor and the pump.

Some of these compressors are manufactured so cheap now that there can be just a set screw that is loose and the motor shaft is spinning free inside of the crankshaft.

If you drain the oil out of the pump and take off the pump crankcase cover, you should be able to see the problem.
