Battery life greatly reduced after switch from vista to xp

I just switched my Toshiba Satellite A215 S4747 from Vista to Xp, and while running XP, my battery only last about 20 minutes, i installed all the drivers i could find except for the SM bus driver so if anyone has a link to that i would appreciate it. But is there a reason why it isn't lasting more then an hour like it would with vista

the battery plan is on maximum battery so i dont know, computer is not even 2 years old.

Your power plan might be changed since installing xp, click controll panel > hardware and sound > power options, you should see different power plans with check boxes, balanced is the default choice but if your battery is old you might want to use power saver

vinl ac97 is a great driver for the audio in win xp it has a full studio with a mixer and other settings that u can change to suit your listening needs
simply go to the web search bar and enter vinl ac 97 audio drivers free downloads then do the downloads not it may ask you a few things ok but dont get intimidated once installed restart the computer and then you are set ok?

Has anyone with a Toshiba Satellite A215-S7407 installed XP?

If you are looking for something to improve performance, check out your antivirus software. Some are major resource hogs (like Norton or Mcafe) while others are very light like Avira Antivir.

If you want a really easy way to do all the performance modifications at once, try Iolo System Mechanic. It has done wonders for every PC I have installed it on (including my $300 Windows 7 budget notebook).

The software is relatively inexpensive at outlets like Sams Club or Fry's (about $20) so I would recommend trying that first, and switch if it doesn't do enough for your needs.

Changed from vista to xp camera doesn't work on tosh sat pro s300

1. uninstall the camera driver

2. download updated XP driver for ur camera

3. install new XP driver
