support.gateway.com/s/Manuals/Monitors/8511446.pdfOK manuals above and below.support.gateway.com/support/manlib/.../Monitor.shtml Below is how to repair your monitor step by step, hope this helps.http://www.ccl-la.com/LCDrepair10.htm
I looked for a service manual, but could find none :(
You could have a back-light problem and it could be a faulty inverter board or a CCFL lamp. For service, parts and DIY info check out LCD parts - Click on this link to their WEB site :- www.lcdparts.net
Gateway was working good went upstairs came back NOTHING BLACK SCREEN....
My gateway screen was constently black every time I powered on nothing no bios, nostart up no warning..The board has indicating lights to follow the start up power light on, battery light on, then the disk drive....but thats it normaly the harddrive reader light comes on but nothing.... So detached every component and tested individually..... come to find out one of my 2 ram slots is damaged not the chips...this could be your problem..try
most likely is the power supply in the monitor. gateway LCD has a building power supply in the monitor. it supplies 38W to the lamp. since there is no display, it tells me that there is no power to the monitor. if try another monitor and it works fine. then the problem is the monitor. (dispaly lamp is good for 17 Years- according to the tech spec.) but the power supply is pushing too much power. other vendors max power is apporximately 30W.
make sure there is nothing behind the monitor and has good air flow. Since there is no fan in the unit. it need to vent the hot air natually.
Look in the back of the Gateway where you currently have the video cable connected. If there are two connectors, (Side by Side) there than disconnect & re-connect to the other. Your display should come up. Don't be fooled. Most Pc's that have no display on their monitor is not a monitor problem but a computer problem.
I have the same problem with my monitor.
I don?t have the answer yet to resolve the problem.
if you want the first of us who find the resolution will advise the other.
I sent an email to Xerox to get the info to remove the cover without breaking it.
