How do I clean the carborator?

Remove carb from mower. Use carb cleaner and small acid brush to clean outside of carb. Remove bowl from bottom of carb. Clean bowl. Observe bolt that held carb bowl to carb, see if it has a hole or holes thru it. Clean out holes with bread wrapper wire with about 1in of wire. Test float, float down fuel flow, float up fuel stops. Use bread wrapper to clean center port of carb from bottom up thru carb body. Remove float pin float and meter needle, use bread wrapper to clean meter needle passage up thru carb body. Re-assemble carb.
Honda carbs can be purchased new for $14 - $27.

How to install carb

The wire should bolt to side of bowl. The right side as the video shows the you flip it over and with the bowl side up there should be alignment marks and it goes in the bottom of carb where white float isMore pics of bowl and bolts that go with it would help.

How do you clean the carb

usually theres a small bolt under float bowl of the carb. remove small bolt and remove lower bowl to empty out - careful not snag the float or let float drop to far, the needle valve is attached to the float. Once bowl is empty you replace the bowl- the gasket is rubber and the one around the small bolt is a thin brass washer all reusable. To make sure the bowl is back on right make sure the shallow end of the bowl is directly under the needle seat area so the bowl won't restrict the float movement

Yzf 250 carb settings not right.Bike is not running properly and has no power.keeps spluttering and cutting out. Can't get any idle adjustment

Drain the carb float bowl. Condensation from the gas tank has probably made its way into the bowl. If that doesn't help, remove the carb then remove the float bowl and use spray carb cleaner to clean the interior of the carb. Spray into every opening you can find.

you need to service your carb. it has a bowl on the bottom of the carb. it should have a screw or a nut holding the bowl in place some of the new ones have a spring clip. anyhow take it loose and there is some holes in the bolt that need to be cleaned out if tou dont have anything small enough homedepot and lowes sell a tip cleaning kit for cutting torches and it has some tiny wies that will work . some carbs have a screw in the middle of the hole after you take off the bolt look in the center and if it looks like a flat head brass screw then you can un screw that peice to and clean it thos tiny holes get cloged real fast get som carb cleaner and clean everything and the bowl it only takes gas 30 days to oxyzadize and it will leave behind a yellow scale like plaque on your teeth and will foul up the whole thing . keep note when removing the bowl one side is lower so keep it the same direction when removing it will allow the float to settle down right to allow the gas to flow into the bowl. the float has a little valve that has a rubber tip on it and it can get stuck and not work right if things seem clean and still runs funny get a carb kit from truvalue o a lawn epair shop get all info off side of motor . when installing bowl if you have a screw with a spring out the bottom of bowl screw all the way inn then turn back out 2 1/2 turns to adjust proper flow if screw is on side of carb turn same amount if too much gas is idling rough turn screw in some hope this helps

There is verfy possibly a fuel restiction in the carb. Many times the particles in the carb float bowl are restricting the fuel flow past the needle valve. I would advise adding some carb cleaner to your gasoline. The other possibility could be a loose carb or carb gasket which would cause a loss of suction through the carb and this would decrease the fuel draw. Soooo if the carb float bowl is the suspect. FIRST you will need to turn off the fuel supply. If no valve is avail, find a bolt or some object that will work to plug the fuel hose when it is removed from the carb you will need to grab a small bowl to catch the fuel when you remove the bolt holding the float bowl. Carefully and I mean gently remove the bowl (sometimes the bowl is slightly sticking and needs a slight bump)and see that the operation of the float moves up and down with no restriction of movement. See if there is any dirt in the bowl. wipe the bowl inside to remove dirt. Carefully reassemble. MAKE SURE no fuel is leaking or spills are in the area. Fire on the outside of the engine is not the prefered method!!!.

Went to reserve fuel - then motor backfiring and loss of power -

Condensation in the gas tank collects at the fuel petcock. Get enough water in there and it gets into the carbs. ALWAYS have a fire extinguisher on hand when working on carburetors.
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).

Drain the carburetors. There should be a screw on the lower side or bottom of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb.
Put the carb back together and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road.
