SOURCE: bobbin filling on Singer 626

The Singer 626 has a self-winding bobbin. You place the empty bobbin in the bobbin thingie (sorry for being so untechnical). On the left of the bobbin you will see a "lever" with a circular top on it (I think it is red-ish) Again, sorry for being so untechnical. Press the "lever" down. Thread your machine, thread the needle, wrap the excess thread from the needle around the knob that tightens the needle and holds it in place and press your foot down on the foot pedal. The bobbin will automatically wind as you hold the foot pedal down. Do not wind the thread onto the bobbin past the outer white line.

SOURCE: Singer Sewing Machine model 9224. Bobbin thread

If you turn the handwheel, can you see a metal ring rotating around the outer edge of the bobbin case? If not rotating, broken gear or timing belt off.
If that ring is turning, remove the needle plate and bobbin case. As this ring now rotates, you will a finger on the ring that will pass behind the needle from right to left and it should catch the thread from the eye of the needle. If this finger, the "hook" passes above the eye, you have a timing problem.

Let me know.

I have a singer fashion maker rotomatic sewing machine..its bobbin case is broken..i have purchased it but don't know how to install it

I believe that is top loading Apollo bobbin case if so, facing the front of the machine underneath bobbin cover/door there should be a bracket on the left (holds bobbin case) move it back, set case in with the cut out pointing to the back of the machine, you may have to wiggle it a bit until you feel it is seated the move the bracket back over the bobbin case

Bobbin not turning, possible motor/gear issue?

You have a broken vertical shaft gear. It's very easy to replace if you are mechanically inclined. The gear can be purchased for between $8-14 from a sewing repair store and I can walk you through the process.

How do I fix a timing problem with my singer sewing machine? The needle thread will not pick up my bobbin thread.

Here's how you set the timing od the Machine alright:
1. Take the side plate off, take the needle plate off.
2. Take the presser foot off, and put a new needle in the machine. 3. Make sure that the needle is in the lowest position and look at the needle bar for the two timing lines. Locate the top line.
4. Then, turn the handwheel toward you until the top line is where the bottom line was.
At this point, the tip of the hook should be directly in the scarf of the needle.
This should set the timing of the machine perfect....
