Question about Car Audio & Video

Open Question

I have a Citroen C3 car which had some problems with the computer. Now, a garage replaced the ECU/BSI complete with matching transponder immobiliser keys. The car is back working! But the car radio beeps, probably a problem with the VIN number. I visited Citroen garage and they checked with a Lexia computer the radio: VIN number of my car matched with the VIN number that was programmed in the radio. Keeps beeping. Could it be that the car radio is trying to match the original VIN code with the VIN code that is in the s/h BSI? Is it possible that all the other stuff is working then? I have the VIN of the s/h BSI. Could I programme that one via Lexia in the car radio? Thank you!!

SOURCE: suburu radio wire harness. trying to match up with

Hello uze7, Here is the wiring match up for a 2009 Subaru Forester using the Metra 70-7552 wiring harness: NOTE: The actual harness will be listed as a Nissan harness, but has been used by Subaru since 2007. Also, I'm assuming that your Sony deck uses the standard color code. If not, you should have a manual that lists the function along with the colors. Match the wiring by function, not by color (although the colors may be the same). 2009 Subaru Forester Radio Wiring Color Code: Battery BLUE/RED (+) RADIO HARNESS Accessory YELLOW/RED (+) RADIO HARNESS Ground BLACK (-) RADIO HARNESS Illumination VIOLET (+) RADIO HARNESS Dimmer BLACK/WHITE (-) RADIO HARNESS Power Antenna YELLOW/BLACK (+) RADIO HARNESS LF Speaker (+) BROWN LF Speaker (-) BROWN/WHITE RF Speaker (+) BLUE/WHITE RF Speaker (-) BLUE/YELLOW LR Speaker (+) WHITE/BLACK LR Speaker (-) RED/YELLOW RR Speaker (+) GRAY RR Speaker (-) GRAY/RED Metra Harness: Yellow ? 12V Constant Red ? 12V Accessory Black - Ground Orange ? sounds like the module/ecu for the c/locking is not compatable with the key/ignition.
you're gonna have to go back to the reprogrammer & see if they can match the cl to the ignition.

Why is water getting into the engine ECU. On my Citroen C3 1.1

in the cab ECU, the window leaks (or door leaks if close to ECU)
under hood, driving too fast in deep water . or horrific fender rust.

you never stated a year, how are we going to guess that.
each generation of car the move the thing... (forward)

I really need help with this car im completely stumped, ive got a 1999 holden VT commodore it has a new standard 3.6L V6 fitted, its been lowered proffesionally, has high flow extractors, a 2 and half inch...

OK mate, see if we can get this sorted.....

When was the 3.6L V6 (I'm guessing an LY7) motor fitted to your VT and has it been running OK or has it always had this fault since being fitted?

400 codes from the ECU rings alarm bells that there is a compatibility problem with either the scantool and the ECU or the ECU and the engine.

I have struck issues in the past where all sorts of wierd things like you describe have been happening and it has been a poor earth to either the ECU or the engine block. (poor earths cause a LOT of problems and really random ones)

Transponder fault does not make alot of sense as it is only going to cause issues on startup, not once the engine is running.

I see the exhaust has been modified...are the factory Oxygen sensors for the 3.6L V6 fitted?

If you can give me some history of the repower ie: who did it, are the engine and ECU matched, where did the motor come from etc. It may give some more clues.

2001 daewoo lanos immobiliser problem car wont start. entered radio security code. immobiliser dash light is still on.

Radio code has no bearing on the immobiliser at all.

Normally it is down to the key not recognised. Are you using the same / usual key as before? If not then try original or another key as it may be the transponder in the key you are using.

If same key or no joy then remove the lower Black plastic steering cowls on the column (normally 3 or 4 screws) you will expose the barrell assy, on the end of this you'll see the transponder pick up ring. Disconnect from loom, apply silicone grease to pins and reconnect then try starting.

If still no joy, disconnect positive terminal off the battery, touch the lead to an earth point for 2 to 3 seconds to defuse and reset ECU, reconnect and try again.

If still noy joy you will need a garage as special reading equipment is required.

406 Peugeot fuel pump - Diesel

yes the control pad and the engine management are connected via a unit called the BSI this very expensive to replace around the $1500 AU price so you don't want to replace it if you dont have to the 406 had problems with immobilisers ecu which is able to be unpluged, most of the time this will solve the problem.
if need be tow the car to the dealer and ask them to unplug the imobiliser

Coil / capacitor?

Could be a problem with the reader coil for your transponder immobiliser. The Corrado's ignition key has a transponder chip inside it which is matched to the ECU. There is a small coil inside the ignition which reads the code from the key. These quite often go faulty.
You can find further info on the Corrado Form.
