Hello, I have Toshiba Satellite L675 Model lap top. My web camera failed to initialize the application. The error message said check your camera device and restart your computer or application again. Problem with your Cam driver 1st You download Webcam Driver. Free Microsoft Camera Driver After this install the Webcam driver in the system.
Installation of Webcam Driver

• Go to the control panel
• Click on the System Icon
• Click on the Hardware Tab
• Click on the Device Manager then
• Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
• Right click on it and uninstall it.
• After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
• Driver installation Wizard start.
• Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
• Driver will be install.

The driver is NOT digitally signed so in actual fact they indeed are NOT being installed. You will have to turn of the check digital signature by pressing F8 at Bootup and selecting it. Then you can install it. Install as Administrator, Set the install .exe & run .exe, to Compatability Mode for XP SP 2. You WILL have to press F8 each and every time you boot otherwise Vista will "Block" the driver from loading. There is NO real workaround.

Have you just installed a new security app such as Kaspersky?

If so you could so allow CEC_main.exe in the firewall which should cure the problem.

I have windows xp and my web cam is pc camera 120 when I opened webcam nothing is displayed on the cam. It is displaying black screen. When I selected google camera adopter it is displaying 8007045a error. How can I solve my problem.

1.instal sp36880.exe (Intel Chipset Installation Utility for ICH8 2K_XP)

2.instal sp33867.exe (Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for HD Audio)

3.try instal sp36090.exe (Conexant High Definition Audio) but 99% with errors !!! (extract to C:\sp36090 )

4.in DEVICE MANAGER / SYSTEM DEVICES
right click on PCI DEVICE (there is yellow trouble icon), manual search "C:\sp36090" and final instal DEVICE )

5. then instal next devices :))

1. Download the drivers from here: www.mscustomercare.com
2. Make sure the device is fully charged and not in charge mode.
3. Unzip and install the drivers with the device connected to your pc.

Try to see if that fixes the issue

Sounds like Communications helper.exe its some type of driver and/or windows service. This would be the same for all cameras and other computer devices that utilize the Communications helper.exe driver/service. It might be possible to stop Communications helper.exe or its alias from running at start-up but its not recommended as you probably will loose functionality of the camera.
