I'm trying to get to the on/off switches for my Dayton 3VE21 wet dry vacuum.

Maybe open the motor casing and look for an overheat reset button. If it doesn't have one, check for voltage at the wires coming directly out of the motor. If it has power there and no reset switch, then the motor needs replaced or rebuilt.

Dry/Wet vac is blowing instead of vaccuum


Check to see if the plastic ball is stuck . There should be a ball under the motor , make sure it moves freely. Make sure your vacum lines are not plugged . Best of luck Ed.

DeWalt DC500 wet/dry vacuum


I had the same problem and traced it down to the on/off switch. I sprayed some electical contact cleaner down inside the switch and now it works normal. Hope this helps.
