You most likely have a broken return spring.

The manual recoil starter I pulled starter slowly two or three times and then cord was loose no resistance what is the problem?

Sounds like the starter drive is jammed. Look for a large cog azt the back of the starter cord on the motor, manually push it in the opposite direction to the spin created when the cord is pulled.

Cannot pull plug from machine

plug is either stuck or factory glitch. Returned mine to store and sales guy pulled a new one from the shelf. After pulling the cord on the new
unit it came out. They say its a 23 inch cord. Try pulling harder. If that doesn't work it may be factory glitch. return to store and make sure a
sales person pulls the cord out for you.

Broken pull rope of Mantis Tiller

Remove the starter assembly from the side of the engine. Remove the balance of the old cord from the spool and purchase about 1-meter of replacement cord from a saw shop (it should be nylon, not cotton). Insert the new cord into the center slot/hole in the spool, melt the end, and tie an overhand knot. Wind the cord around the spool several turns in the same direction as the old cord, then pull on the cord to wind the return spring inside the spool. Wedge the spool to prevent rewinding, then continue to wind the cord until about 8-10 inches are left. Feed the cord end through the cord port and into the handle. Melt the cord end, then tie an overhand knot and pull the knot back into the cavity in the handle. Remove the spool wedge and test the pull of the cord--it should pull out smoothly and return fully without slack. Hope this helps!

Pull string won't recoil

Sounds like the return spring has either broken or come loose from an anchor point. Remove the entire starter mechanism from the saw and pull at the cord. The problem should be evident once you can see what is happening. It may be a kink formed in the cord that prevents return. Good luck!

Recoil not returning rope when pulled

There is a spring inside the pull cord housing that makes the cord come back in, it probably undid itself, remove the housing cover and rope assembly and you will see the spring, you need to retighten it and place everything back. hope this helps
