Question about Dishwashers
Hi, The dishwasher starts, then it stops, the dial doesn't go any further, but it sounds like it wants too. No water is coming out when I turn it on and open it once it has stopped. If I put some kettles of hot water in the bottom, which I have tried many times, once it did seem to work for a little bit. After the kettled water in bottom, I turn it on, the water does drain... The water connection has been turned on and off,the hose checked that it is supplying water.. Now I'm not sure. I have been unable to easily locate the float, as I believe this can also be the problem, HELP, if you can, that would be great, Cheers, Natasha :)

you have a bad fill valve. unplug the unit from the wall or turn breaker off and tell me if the water still comes in if the answer is yes you have a bad fill valve.

If you "Lower" the hose to the bucket and it "drains" you are just using gravity to remove the water. The pump may be helping a little but if you raise the hose up and the water stops coming out, it's a good indication that the pump is bad. Unless the place you are attaching the hose to is plugged up, you need a new pump or a new impellor. Since the motor is good, try to get a replacement impellor, that the thing that moves the water. One other thing, you did say how well it washes the dishes? If the impellor is bad, it probably doesn't.

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.
