Question about Holman Kitchen Appliances - Others

Open Question

Star toaster QCSe2-600h won't move out of pre heat setting. When I turn it on it goes into pre heat then immediately turns itself off. I checked high limit switch, no problem there, and it does have at least one bad element. Could it be a control board or switch problem?

SOURCE: hotpoint wd62 washer dryier (aquarius 1200)

i am a retired engineer of 20 years, and its about a year since i worked on combination washer/dryers but if the heater elements fine and power comes from timer there must be cut out somewhere around where it should warm up, look all round the machine one may be hidden or hard to spot there maybe about 3 one of them one of them could be a trigger device (you can press a button to reset it) that style is a very small cube about the size of a sugar lump with2 spades on it, others look like a small flat oval or round shape the size of a five pence piece with 2 spade wires on them, remove the plug from wall and remove these spades and check the contacts for continuity, you need not remove from machine to do so, no circuit + no heat, replacement item not expensive, thats where to start based on the information given, check the sensors you mention again, it sounds like your so close, good luck and work safe

may have screws on the bottom and the loader knob usually has to be pried off. Place soft wood like a ruler against the housing and pry carefully from side to side with a large screwdriver. After working on it, plug it in outside to a ground-fault ac plug on a fireproof surface to test.

SOURCE: Krups Toaster Oven elements stopped heating up

this is all to common . what thought happend did happen . the control board went bad and the elements where stuck on . inside there is a thermal fuse ,it blew out and saved you from haveing a fire but now the oven is dead . if you replaced the fuse it would just do it again and the board cannot be bought so your out of luck . on your next oven stay away from electronic controls . i am shocked you got 3 years out if it ,most go bad mutch sooner

Is preheating this toaster oven necessary? How do you preheat?

Preheat is helpful when you're not cooking for more than a few minutes. If you're going to cook for 20 minutes or more, then most likely you don't need to pre-heat.

To pre-heat, simply turn your toaster-oven on 10 minutes before you put the food in.

How do I preheat this toaster oven

Set your temp. Turn oven on. Wait. That's how you pre-heat a toaster oven. There aren't any that I have seen with a specific "preheat" setting.

Turns off by itself. 7 blinks.

  1. High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits. 7 blinks of standby light denotes this. If you wish to get more details, check this site. Pull up older posts there. Check the site with patience, as it has over 2250 posts now. All are related to electronic equipment repair help. Blinking codes to different models of Sony sets are described in detail.

Hi my toaster rotates but does not heat, what could this be?

If the heater controls were set to a temp and heaters do not heat up, the problem is either in the heater or in the control.

I purchased a Star waffle maker in April and now it will not heat up who do I talk to about this problem?

Nearly all appliances that use high heat in their operation such as your waffle maker, coffee makers, toasters, use a thermal fuse to prevent fire. Unfortunately, these fuses are all coming from China and are very poorly made. Additionally, they are mostly welded to their mounts since the heat to which they are exposed is too high for soldering or fuse holders and are not user replaceable.
You will need to ship back your waffle maker to the mfr. for repair and you should have plenty of time left on your warranty.
