Then its a driver issue!!
try using a usb mouse and then re-installing all the drivers that are provided in one of your laptop's partitions or try downloading them from the acer web site.
or try re-installing the windows

Mousepad not working

It was probably inadvertently disabled. To re-enable the touchpad press the Fn and F7 button at the same time. This toggles the touchpad to ENABLE/DISABLE.

I have a toshiba laptop the mousepad won't move.

First connect a mouse to your laptop. Click "Start" and open the control panel, click printers and other hardware and then click "mouse". Under mouse properties, click the "device settings" tab. Under the device window, you can see if the touchpad is enabled or not. If it is not enabled, click on the enable button.then click "apply" of "ok" button. Your touchpad should be working again.

Mousepad not working

Hello,

Each Touchbad should have basic functionality by default in every Operating system, letting it be used even when no driver is installed. However, try pressing FN and F7 together and see if the touchpad works again. Some people accidently press this FN + F7 key when they mute the sound with the FN + F8 key.

The FN + F7 is there to disable/enable the touchpad as some people use a USB mouse instead of the touchpad.

If you still need the drivers, here are the download links. Please choose desired driver by Operating system and Touchpad brand...

I have recently bought an acer aspire 5532 and the mousepad has stopped working how can i check if it is enabled and re-enable it if it isn't

Hi

Thank you for your query

From what you are descrbing the mousepad has been locked up

Normally for Acer's the key to unlock is fn+F7 or F5 however if these 2 dont work the picture your looking for ontop of the F key is a small rectangle with a arrow/finger pointing to it

I hope this helps

It might be an internal problem. Hopefully you haven't drop it. If it persist you may need to take it apart and look at the actual connection for the touch pad.

The mousepad on my acer aspire 5633WLMi doesn't work...any ideas?

Check if it's enabled. If enabled, but still don't work, connect an USB mouse to any free USB port. If you can move the pointer with the mouse, but nor with the touchpad, reinstall your touchpad's drivers. If stills refusing to work, then take your laptop to service center.

Toshiba Satellite Touchpad not working

Restore the defaults in the BIOS to begin with, this will make sure its not a setting in there that is disabling the mousepad.

Then in windows see if the touchpad is working. If not then take the keyboard out with the power turned off.

When you take the keyboard out you will see the ribbon cable that comes from underneath the touchpad. disconnect it from the motherboard and reseat it firmly back in. Then turn back on the motherboard and see if the mousepad works. If it still doesn't then try the shortcut key to enable it.

If it does't enable then that means its either going to be a mousepad problem where you would have to replace the top cover assembly or a motherboard problem cause it could be where the voltage required to run that mousepad is missing.
