My monitor and viewfinder are black.

There may be one of this
Try connecting your camera with your pc if it gets connected this is problem 1 otherwise it is problem 2
In either case you need to go to Nikon or a experienced repairer
1) seems to be a stuck shutter problem. Can you hear a click sound when you snap a picture just like that? If yes then you shutter is jammed. Go and get it fixed from Nikon.
2) Camera firmware is not in good condition In this case as well you can go to nikon and get it upgraded.

Shutter jammed

The shutter assembly must be replaced then. But your camera is near-worthless and the repair is not a DIY option, so it's uneconomic to do so.

You can get a complete replacement camera for nothing on FreeCycle or Freegle, or very cheaply on auction websites. My last two N75's and an N8008 (a.k.a. F-801) came to me as perfect near unused and boxed examples from FreeCycle.

Nikon FE film winder jammed.

Is it the viewfinder or the film advance lever? If the viewfinder is not showing any image and the shutter is not getting released, then it could be a problem with the mirror box.To confirm, remove the lens and see if it gets released. To align the lens, you have to take it to the nearest service center (or repair shop).

D 70 blocking diafragma

Have you tried looking inside the camera with the lens removed?

Check to see if the shutter fully operates and the mirror is jamming on return or if it is in fact the shutter.

Both faults will require a service, the shutter is impossible for a tinkerer to replace/service and the mirror jamming error is equally tricky.

Stuck shutter release button on my D100

The damage may require parts, but maybe not. If I were doing the work, I would charge in the $50-$60 range , plus parts if needed.

Nikon will likely quote you much higher $200+

You can use the repair service locater here on Fixya to find a repair shop in your area

Shutter jammed

Did you set the camera to M90 AFTER you installed new batteries? The camera will work without batteries in the B and M90 settings, but when you install new batteries, reset the mirror by turning the dial to M90. If this doesn't correct it, I wouldn't recommend opening the camera - take it to a repair shop.
