SOURCE: >We have JBL platinum speakers
Hello, I have other JBL speakers wich use 12Vdc power, with no polarity sign at the input.
Most common is + at the middlepoint, and it is at mine.
So you can trust on the 'normal situation'
Otherwise you can open the speaker and look good to the powerinput connector.
Mostly you can see wich point is outside and inside.
Follow the outside, this is leading to an condensator ( ELKO)
this is marked at the minus. This can be just a ring at the minus, but in mine are 3 big minus signs.
If this is the situation, you are sure.
( otherwise you have to follow the middle wich is going to the minus of the elko. Than it is opposite, but I don't think so)
and don't forget, if you smell burning plastics and the flames are higher then 2 feet: shut of the electricity :-)
