SOURCE: what is a E5 error code in a micro over model

An "SE" error would be a shorted membrane keypad.

I'm not sure about an "E5" error.

You would have to consult the "mini-manual" or technical sheet inside the microwave, usually located behind the control panel or hidden inside the area behind the grille. It may mention an "E5" error.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If it is an SE error this is a problem that's pretty easy for the homeowner or a friend to do himself. And you can save $200 or so.

I'll tell you what the DIY options are and you can decide if you'd prefer one of those or to call Sears/Kenmore for service:

Take your control box off as in the video at our site, peel the old keypad off as in this handy guide with pictures , clean the surface, stick on the new keypad
order by part number here DE34-00233T SWITCH MEMBRANE $20.60 membrane keypad
(We can do this job for you for a total of $64.95, but as you can see, the other two options are more practical and economical)

Take your control box off as in the video at our site, disconnect the keypad strip as shown here, move your circuit board to the new frame, reinstall
order by part number here DE94-01647D ASY CONTROL PANEL $31.77 control panel frame with keypad

Take yours off as in the video at our site, then install the new one
order by part number here DE94-01648D ASY CONTROL, BOX $58.98 complete control panel assembly with frame, keypad and circuit board

SOURCE: How to deal with error

Thie would indicate that the door is not closed properly. Open the door and re-close it.If the door is getting closed properly, then also it can be problem with interlock door switch. You will see, that door is got closed properly, but because the door lock switch is faulty, it will not get properly locked. So the oven will display this error code.Try pressing the closed door hard with your hand. And see, if error disappears. But if door switch is ok and its getting closed properly, then is inverter board issue. The board is not detecting the door is closed so the h95 error is coming up. This inverter board is also used in Panasonic and Bosch units. The door if its getting closed properly, then its inverter board issue. It has to be checked by meter. Micro does not heat

Without your model number, I'd have to assume that it's a Whirlpool -made Kenmore. If so, then F6 means the cook relay is failing on the control circuit board.

We regularly repair such control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so with a one-year guarantee.

Also at our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

Samsung MR6699GB

This model was one of many subject to a recall due to defective membrane keypads.

Details of the recall are here: http://www.allworldauto.com/recalls/NHTSA_03E044000__SAMSUNG_MICROWAVE_MR6699GB_recall_55168.html

Long story short, please unplug it and contact Samsung with you model and serial number at 800-932-3837.

If your serial number was not one subject to a recall, E2 usually means a temperature sensor problem but it may also mean you have a bad door switch.

If it's not in the recall, please post back and I can give you info on checking the other parts.

ERROR CODE E 63 COMES ON AFTER 2 MINUTES ON SAMSUNG MICROWAVE

Some models are equipped with a sensor that can automatically adjust the oven's heating time based on the amount of steam in the oven.  If your microwave is displaying E1, E4, or E5, there may be an issue with the gas sensor. For an E1 error, press the Cancel button and check on the food.

If the message is either ERROR or E-6, it indicates a mechanical fault.

For all error indications, try unplugging the microwave from the outlet for at least ten minutes and then plug it back in. If the error persists, the microwave may require service. Please use our ASC Locater to find your nearest Authorzied Service Center
