The engine light is telling you that the CPU has found
sensor/s outside set parameters during the checking process. Have the fault codes read before wasting time and money guessing what has failed. Replace with genuine items only as aftermarket units are not always compatible with the
settings in the CPU. Look for a servo problem related to the tranny or a pressure problem in the gear box.

I have a peugeot 206 allure I have clunking noise when changing from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd but not when changing to forth or coming down the gear I have had a new gear box clutch and thrust

It could be a loose/failed engine or transmission mount. Look at the tranny rear mount and check the bolts and condition. Also check the bell housing bolts AND the bolts connecting the engine flywheel to the clutch pressure plate.

I have a 2007 Dodge Charger won't go over 35-40 mph and once you get up to that speed it jumps back and forth and when you start it and put it in gear to go it jumps real hard. My mechanic and a transmission specialist said it was a bad tranny I bought a used tranny and the used one wouldn't even shift into gear so now putting another tranny and another computer system in it. My chrysler 2002 town and country will not change gears. The RPMs stay at 2 or 3 when going 40 mph. What do I do?

I have the same vehicle, is your engine light on or flashing? Put your key in the ignition, turn back and forth 3 cycles of on off. End in the on position. If you have a 0700 code come up, your transmission is "done". Sounds like it is in "limp mode". Thats what happened to me. Had tranny overhauled, $1800.

your transmission oil is likely burnt, there by losing it's viscosity. check for brown rather than red fluid on dipstick.have transmission oil & filter changed.it is possible overheating will have caused additional damage.
