my laptop turns on and bigins to power up with the green light on on the left hand side.The green light remains on but the screen does`nt come on niether do any other lights,i thought it was my charger but ive tried another charger might it be my baterie.Would appreciate any help.

- Posted bad acer to me. There was no recovery cd and for that there is no sound and the vga too does not function properly.
i have installed winxp professional and it is requesting for sound drivers so send me a copy of the recovery cd or allow me to download the drivers on net now. - claer

I had the same problem and it was my battery - i would strongly suggest getting a new one, doesnt need to be an ACer - it could even be a generic one- just as effective.Try www.cellphoneshop.net, they sell cheap batteries.
