SOURCE: gas range top burners too hot

Get the installation manual for your range, and find the part on adjusting the low heat for the burners. On my Whirlpool, I found there is an adjustment screw inside the control knob shaft of each burner. The manual says turn the burner on low, remove the knob, then turn this screw until the flames are 1/4" high. Super-easy, it took me 5 minutes to do. I am sure all ranges have similar adjustments, might be in different locations - check the manual.

The stove is on a 2004 boat - I assume the stove is original. The burners light, but it just took me ages to boil a cup of water in a sauce pan with the lid on. Do old stoves lose their efficiency?

Gas stoves don't usually loose heating efficiency. Check that the gas control is allowing it to go from low to high. Being LPG, there may be a pressure problem. LPG have a regulator on or close to the bottle. Being on a boat, I would get a competent / licensed Gas Tech to check it. Better to be safe. LPG appliances on a boat can be very dangerous if not serviced or repaired properly.

The only change I know of is a jet change, from bottled gas to natural gas . it may pay to have the regulator pressure checked .

Kenmore lp gas sealed burner stove, when opening or closing the oven door the top burners decrease in flame size and go out frequently.

This seems like a pressure regulator / flow problem. If you are running more than one appliance from bottled gas this can occurr if the supply pipe is not of sufficient size. When 'wafting the door' you are increasing air flow to the oven burners which in turn will consume more gas to balance the burn, this starves other burners that are running at the time.
Cure; increase regulator pressure (remove the foil cover to expose the screw) with the top burners alight adjust the screw 1/4 turn at a time until the flames are bright blue at heart and organge tipped. Increase as much as you can without the falme distorting away from blue/orange. If this doesn't cure it you may need to increase the size of your supply pipe to 15mm so that the volume of gas is greater and then split it off to normal lpg pipe to each apliance thereby creating a more even flow of supply. Often a system using say heating and gas fire is perfectly fine but add another appliance like a cooker or change your cooker to one which has more powerful burners and you can expose weaknesses in the flow system.

329H portable heater Can this be converted to a gas bottle fitting will it be ok what is the use age and how many watts of power to run the electronics etc

You need to convert the unit if you are changing from Natural gas to LPG. This involves getting a full conversion kit for your model and changing burner , gas pressures and electronic settings.

Power draw on high remains at 22Watts. Input is almost identical for either natural or LPG gas as you would expect but running costs depends on how much you pay for your LPG. For example in Australia we use 45kg bottles of LPG, they retails at about A$110 delivered. One of these would last about 170 hours running a 329 on high.About 2 litres of LPG per hour

I have used this bbq once and it did not heat up enough to cook sausages ,what are we doing wrong and how can we fix it ,we used just a normal lpg gas bottle as we can not find propraine

Hi,
I question if the gas in the ipg bottle is propane. All gases have different latent heat. Use the gas and bottle size that the manufacture recommends.

Doesn't seem to be enough gas going into the

Hi am welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

1. Does the LPG tank have gas in it?
2. Is it one gas control or more that gives you this symptom? If it is more than one and there is gas in the LPG tank then the LPG regulator can be the problem.
3. There can be debris on the face of the gas orifice where the burner mates to to the gas control selector assy. (Spider webs / grease /dirt)
4. The air hole in the burner can be partially blocked with something (same as above Grease, dirt, cob webs)
5. The holes in the burner itself can be corroded or blocked with something. (This one would be pretty obvious)
6. The gas valve 'heat control may not be functioning properly.
7. There is a very remote possibility that the LPG hose has collapsed.

I would check the orifice and the burner holes for obstructions after verifying the LPG tank is usable. Then the next suspect would be the LPG regulator.

Thanks for using FixYa,

Kelly

well its my experience that ranges don't come lpg they are all made natural gas but you convert them to lpg after purchase now if the lpg conversion isn't done properly then they soot like crazy proper lpg converson is to change the spuds on the burners and to turn the orifice over in the pressure regulator do you still have your owners manuel if so consult it on converting gas range to lp then check to see if every thing was done right on the pressure regulater there is a square cap you take it off and there is a round part that on one side says lp on the other says ng this changes the pressure that the regulator as ng and lp operates at different pressures and the regulator has to be set for what you using like i said im not familiar with your brand or model but i do know the problem if the range did come ng then you need to make sure the conversion most ranges aren't lp because there is not that big a market for it read the plate on the back will tell you if it was made ng or lp serial plate on front may say also most of the time it is beside the bottom drawer on the range
