Question about Garden

I had to change the blade on my CM1936. The hex bolt that holds the blade on had fused to the thing it screws onto -- the metal bar with threads that goes through the middle of the mower. I had to saw off the hex bolt. Now I need to replace the thing the hex bolt screws on, but I cannot tell what it is. Which part is it? Is it the bottom of the motor assembly? It appears to be called a mandrel or a spindle on other mowers but Black and Decker does not use that term.

You shouldn't have sawed it off. This wasn't a hex bolt, it was a nut threaded onto the motor shaft. The motor shaft is now damaged and so the entire motor will now have to be replaced....unless you can get a machinist to drill and tap a threaded hole in the center of the remaining motor shaft. Good luck!

SOURCE: Have 54 inch Craftsman mower deck that I am

Depends on how old the deck is. Some of the older spindles and mandrels were not made to came apart. The newer ones you can put the nut on the top threade to protect the threads and a couple of taps it should come out. If you have a model number you can got to sears web site aa they will have an exploded view.

SOURCE: Black and decker mower switch wiring

I have a Black and Decker Electric mower #M2370, which I would like to use this year before moving to a condo. Last year, the mower was stopping and starting depending on how the lever was positioned. I suspected the wiring so I removed the on-off switch lever. The wiring appears intact. Part of plastic inside the lever maybe broken. Can i use the mower without the lever by just pushing the black button?

How to change knives

First, safety stuff: Make sure the jointer is unplugged and be very careful with the knives, they are quite sharp.
You should have enough room between the tables to get the knives out, if not remove the stationary, outfeed table. There are four hex-cap screws on each knife that hold the clamp bar on. Remove them with an allen wrench or hex driver if you have one and take the clamp bar and knife out. Pay attention to which way the bevel is on the knife so you put them back on the same way. If the blades have never been turned, they are double sided and can be turned around so the opposite side is out. The knife and clamp bar are designed to go on only the right way. Make sure you get the hex-bolts on very tight. Do the other knife, replace the table and make a couple test runs to check allignment.

I need directions on how to change the baldes on a reciprocating saw.

There are 2 types of clamps that hold the blade in that type of saw.

Since this one most likely has the type where the blade is held in place with a set screw and a "U" shaped piece of metal that holds the blade tight against the shaft. There should be a screw hole in the shaft of the saw. The blade rest next to the shaft and then the metal piece clamps the blade against the shaft. This is all held in place by a set screw that screws into the shaft. This screw uses a hex key to remove and tighten it.

If your tool doesn't have this style then it should have a twisting clamp. This will rotate and release the blade. Sometimes a pliers is needed to loosen the collar, but not to tight tho.

How do you change the blade on a miter saw

first unplug the tool, raise the head and loosen the bolt that holds the lower guard in place. DO NOT disassemble the lower guard, pull it down and it will move out of the way somewhat. Next there is a spindle lock that you push in rotate the blade until locked and hold it while removing the hex bolt, which should be left hand thread, I would use a pair of gloves when holding the blade just for safety. Remove the outer flange and spacer (if needed) reassemble in the opposite order and before trying rotate the new blade by hand to make sure turns freely. Let me know if you need more assistance.

How do i change the blade on my delta 10" mitre saw

Exploded diagram for your SM100M miter saw is here.
User manual is here.

Page 20 covers blade change operation.

Make sure you unplug your saw! You need to remove a screw from the cover and rotate the cover to the rear. Use a hex wrench in the motor shaft to keep the saw blade from turning, and loosen the arbor nut with a 1/2" wrench. The arbor is reverse threaded, so you'll turn it clockwise to loosen, then counterclockwise to tighten it up after you have swapped the blade.
Rotate the cover back after that's done, and replace the screw.

If this was useful, please vote. Thanks.

Replacing a starter

I would drive car onto ramps or raise front end on jack stands. 1st take out the two hex head screws that hold on the plastic cover between starter and motor. I had to use a pair of large pliers to pull cover down, you have to pull hard. Then you can see the two bolts that hold starter on. They might be very tight or rusted. I had to use a 1/2 drive breaker bar to break mine loose. The front bolt will be easy but the back bolt is difficult. You will probably need flex-socket. I ended up putting a 1/2 " drive breaker bar onto a 3/8 drive flex-socket with an adapter. This back bolt is about 5" long and difficult to remove even after it is out of the threads. Now take off the two wires that are on the terminals on the back of starter. You will need a 8mm wrench or socket for the small one. You may have to try several ways to remove the starter after it is loose. You then reverse the process This is a fairly difficult job and I do not know if you can do it without a flex-socket for the back bolt..

Changing the saw blade on a Ryobi Mitre saw

There may be a push button type blade lock, and on many of these saws the retaining bolt for the blade is backwards threads, e.i., looking at the top of blade retaining bolt, turn it clockwise to loosen. This would normally tighten, but in the case of many of these saws, it loosens it.
