Check to make sure that your cycling thermostat is operating properly. Also make sure that drum is rotating. What it sounds like is that the machine has either an air flow problem or thermostat problem. Try running the machine with the vent off, only if it is electric, not gas dryer. Also check your blower to make sure it is tight on the motor shaft. That would impede air flow and cause overheating.

SOURCE: Clothes dryer (Kenmore) only blows cold air

What is the model number on the inside by the door. It's most likely a thermal fuse or the element. Do you have a way to check fuses by a meter or something? There are usually 2 thermal fuses on the pipe with big red wires where the element is. Usually they go out if not the element.

SOURCE: dryer heats, tumbles clothes, blows air out exhause vent, but wont dry clothes

what type is this electric or gas? have you removed the exsaust from the wall and ran a load like this? if you have heat and this is an electric dryer it sounds like you have a blockage in your house. if the dryer runs fine without the exsaust attached then that is your problem. let me know

SOURCE: Cleaned vents, dryer gets very hot, shuts off w/o drying clothes

Sounds like a faulty operating thermostat. Only way is to test on a electric griddle that you can set the temperature to 150 deg and measure with a ohm meter.

SOURCE: dyer really hot, not drying clothes

Is the dryer tumbling? If not, you may have a broken belt or some other drive assembly issue.

Also, turn the dryer on and go outside to the vent discharge - you should feel air coming out at a pretty good clip. If not, the vent line is obstructed and will need to be cleaned out.

Dryer not drying

Not a major appliance expert--but if the situation is as described with hot air out vent but not in the drum where the clothing is it seems to me you have a blockage between the drum and lint filter to where it reaches the vent tube---they do make long flexible brushes for this-----a suggestion: if you have a compressor try forcing air down from the lint filter with the vent tube removed to see if the blockage is there and will clear or not.

A blockage can be a fire hazard so if you do not find it have a tech out.

Dryer Model LER3624JQ0 tumbles clothes, has heat, but clothes are hot and damp. Cleaned lint filter & took of vent in back (thought maybe clogged wall vent) but didn't help. Don't think much (if any)...

If your cloths are "hot and damp" you are not getting proper ventilation. Since you cleaned the vent trap let's try a few things to narrow down where this vent restriction is coming from.
  1. Let's pull that vent trap up and start the dryer. Place your hand a few inches in there. Can you feel a light suction of air? (flowing into the dryer)? We will get back to this shortly. Next -
  2. Take the vent hose off the back and turn the dryer on? At this time you should get lots of warm air blowing. If you do not have this and the vent trap did not have any noticeable air flow (into the dryer) then thus far you have a clog between the vent trap and the vent in the back of the dryer. Unplug the dryer and from the rear of the dryer remove the back panel. Should be just a few 5/16 nut with a possible flathead screwdriver indention on them. If you have to do this let's still check the pathway for ventilation to the outside and make sure one did not trigger the other. And if all ventilation to this point is good then -
  3. You have a clogged vent restriction between the duck and the path it takes to outside. For this a duct cleaning service will have to come out and take a high pressured air hose and blow that pathway clear. Now if you have a fairly high powered compressor and can locate the exit for the dryer vent then -
  4. Charge that compressor and put an air gun adapter on it and (wearing eye protection) blow the heck out of it. This will make a huge mess no matter who does it. Make sure it is a good size shop compressor and not one many people carry in their trunk for inflating flat tires (this one will not work) This is how the duct service will do it also.

Estate dryer do's not dry fast anymoe

Couple of things to check, the blower fan assembly that is close to the lint filter, might be clogged or the exhaust duct hose might be too long and has too many bents, that restricts the air flow. check also outside for restrictions
