The sound on all the stock kits I found to be too low. What I did was create a custom kit and altered the dynamics of all the pads and cymbals - once you're in the dynamics settings, just hit the pads/cymbals the hardest you normally would and save that setting!

When i strike the Bass Drum pedal, i sometimes get a cymbal noise also coming out of the kit. Its not the crash or ride cymbal i can hear, as when i look at the display, i can see a little bar to the right...

First thing to check is if the vibrations of the bass drum amplified MIGHT be triggering the cymbal pickup. Damp the cymbal pad with your hand and see if it still does it. If not, then shield the drumset from the amplified output.

If this does not prevent the problem look for a grounding problem of the triggers.

Where can i buy a new circuit board for xbox world tour orange cymbal? preferably in sydney australia

If you’re having problems with one of your cymbals not responding to your drumstick hits then you are not alone, this is a common occurrence because as anyone who has ever played this game and gotten hooked on it you can get pretty amped up during extreme guitar and drum passages. Unfortunately for the drummer when you get amped up you start pounding your drum pads harder and harder and sooner or later there is going to be a malfunction. You can go about the repairs a couple of different ways but I’ll address your question and the not getting your hands dirty solution which is a simple replacement. Because this is such a standard and common problem with The World Tour Drum Kit (One or Both Cymbals not responding to Drum Hits) a simple Google or Ebay search with the Ebay of your Country such as Ebay Australia will bring back page after page of replacement cymbals orange and yellow. Both of the cymbals are exactly the same, what designates it either the Orange or Yellow pad is what plug you plug into it, if the left Cymbal plug is plugged in then it registers as an Orange pad the right plug Vice Versa. Each pad has a removable Orange or Yellow colored washer that designates it but this has no bearing because the right or left hand side plug designates the color, simply swap one color washer for another if the need be.

Fix number two and the one I suggest is a repair of your original. The reason I suggest repairing the unit is because, one it’s a very easy simple repair if you have just the very basic of solder skills and two, if you purchase a replacement and get crazy again while rocking out your going to damage the new one just like the old one and then your back at square one. The cymbal uses a very simple design to register drum hits; it uses an almost indestructible switch called a piezoelectric, this switch registers pressure as a reason to close its normally open switch. The piezoelectric is attached to the bottom side of your cymbal pad and when you hit the top side of it with the stick viola~ pressure from the stick is applied to the pad and thus to the piezoelectric stuck to the bottom of the pad which tells the switch to close and complete a circuit which when completed sends a signal to the drum controller brain which then tells the Xbox 360 “Hey 360, my guy just hit the yellow cymbal pad so get busy and register a yellow cymbal hit”. As I mentioned earlier the piezoelectric switch is basically indestructible so that is not the problem and if it is it would be the first I’ve heard of, the problem 99.9% of the time is that the piezoelectric has a bad solder connection from one of the two wires attached to it or the other end of the wires that are attached to a mini board. Simple fix is just re-solder the 4 solder joints (Two sides of two wires = 4 solder joints) one at a time so you make sure you have the right color wire attached to the right connection. For the piezoelectric side you’re going to need at least a 40 Watt solder iron because you need to heat up the metal piezoelectric switch itself so as not to produce a cold/defective solder joint. The other problem is even simpler to fix, the glue they used to attach the piezoelectric to the bottom of the drum pad is loose so it doesn’t register the drum hits properly. Simply remove all of their garbage glue from their crappy workmanship and use standard hot glue and gut to re-attach making sure you do not get any glue on the underside if the switch which should be mounted completely flush with the drum pad. I’m not going to give a step by step for these fixes because its already been done a hundred times but here is a link to a great video step by step that will walk you through. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2QhEVER3ag if link does not work simply cut and paste this URL into your web browser.

One of my cymbals just stop working, i've unplugged it from the cymbal, turned the amp off and on, restarted the system and nothing seems to be working. I did unplug it from the "brain" i believe, (i just...

Try these:

- change the interconnection cable between the cymbal and the "brain" unit, if the problem goes away, you have a bad cable.

- if the problem persists, see if that particular cymbal works well on another input of the "brain" unit, if it does, you have a problem with the input on the "brain unit", this will require servicing if the unit still has a warranty, otherwise you should first check the solder contacts on the input that doesn't work (also check for dirt /oxydation on the plug contacts and clean if necessary).

- If that particular cymbal won't work when you plug it into any "brain" cymbal inputs (it's basically a piezo trigger so it should work on other inputs), then you have either a broken wire on the piezo trigger or on the cable connector in that cymbal (it should be possible to resolder), or the piezo trigger itself is faulty and needs to be replaced.

I hope you can find out what troubles your drum kit.
