Question about ASUS HS1000W Wireless Headset

Open Question

My ASUS Wireless HS-1000W does not connect anymore. I can successfully charge the headset, but if I connect the USB dongle to my laptop (directly or via a USB hub) it continues to blink green. And the headset continues to blink blue, regardless of pushing the "link"-button. I also tried to reset the headset, but that did not help. I had no problems using the headset until I installed a wireless logitech mouse. Shortly after that, the problem arose. Might that be the problem?

SOURCE: ASUS 1000WR. Have had

First order of business would be to try to get an exchange on it, since whatever is going on is not good. The problem could be a bad battery, broken wire inside the headset, faulty board connection in the headset, slightly oxidized or sprung battery contacts, a bad battery, or probably quite a few other things.
Bottom line is, you'll have to probably take it apart to check it out, and it's not going to be fun or easy.
If you can, exchange it. Otherwise, concentrate on why the battery isn't making or supplying the voltage needed.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Why does my headset turn on/off

Seems like what you say a power problem + the wireless band is a busy surroundig. Try some new batteries . It goes on so that's not the problem, it seems to me your signal is too weak to provide the working power and every day hours loading makes it die just faster.

Headset is not charging through USB

If you are using a USB hub, then try connecting the USB dongle directly to the USB port of the machine/laptop. Some USB hubs will not charge devices properly.
I had a similar problem with my headsets solved by plugging into a USB port directly.

Welcome to FixYa!

Here's a quick checklist to resolve your wireless mouse connection.

Solution 1.
1. If the underside of the mouse has an on/off switch, make sure to set the switch to the "On" position.
2. Make sure that the battery of the wireless mouse is placed correctly and is not drained.
3. After checking the first two steps, the optical lens on the underside of your wireless mouse should be flashing once in a while. If not, there is something wrong with the battery, the wireless mouse switch, or the wireless mouse itself is defective.
4. Connect the USB dongle in the USB port and let it install automatically.

Solution 2.
5. Connect the USB dongle in another USB port and let it install automatically.

Solution 3.
6. Restart the computer with the wireless mouse turned on and the USB dongle inserted in the computer.

Solution 4.
7. Download and install the drivers from here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&softwareitem=ob-47909-1

I hope that this will help.

Hello, i cannot connect my headset (ASUS HS-1000W) with my playstation 3.i ve check it with my laptop and it connected.the flash light is green but not steady.i ve done all the procedure from the manual

If this is a Bluetooth headset, I have found that not all headsets play nice with the PS3. I had to switch to the Sony PS3 headset to get mine to work consistently.

NS-BTHDST NOT WORKING WITH MY LAPTOP ANYMORE

If you are indeed talking about your Insignia bluetooth headset the reason it works with your cellphone is probably because your phone is already bluetooth enabled, but your laptop is not, which is what the usb dongle is for. You must install the drivers for the dongle for it to make your laptop bluetooth enabled. Once you have that working you need to go to Bluetooth places (should be on the desktop once the driver is installed) THEN hold the button on the headset down until the lights flash blue and red alternating. Once it is flashing, click on add new bluetooth device in the Bluetooth Places and it should pick it up. Once that is going everything is pretty straighforward...follow the wizard. Hope this helps!

Normally you setup a passkey or use 0000 or 9999 as a passkey.

The question is, does that pop up when you try to connect a USB device? Do you get that when you try to install the dongle? (That shouldn't happen). If you are trying to connect a PDA or cell phone, you setup the passkey for the connecting device on the computer then type it in to the PDA or mobile phone. If you are trying to connect a bluetooth headset, then you use whatever code is from the manufactorer. Normally this is 0000 or 9999.

Hope this helps!
