If you cannot get the pass phrease from your friend then you will need to do a factory reset. This can usually be found on the back of the router. It will be a small hole and you will need to stick a paper clip or something similar into the hold and press the button down for approx 10 secs.

Good luck and if this helped please rate it.

You are going to have to reset the router back to factory specs. There should be a reset button on the back of the device. Try to reset it and reconnect.

If you have the documentation on this router you might be able to default the router to its factory settings and access the router with the default login/password.

I have a belkin 54g. have had numrous problems with setting up the wireless function on the 1st and 2nd attempt. 3rd time lucky i manged to get wireless. Although now my wireless name is "belkin54g" and...

Open a browser page and log into the setup page @ 192.168.2.1,
click on SSID on the left column under Wireless,. It will probably ask you for a password if you had put one in. If not leave it clear and click "submit".
Then you can change the SSID (router name" to what you want it to be.
Then click on security, choose the type on encryption you want ie: WEP. WPA. Then put in the key you want to use to secure the router. Make sure you click apply after each change.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
