You have an airflow problem check your venting, clean replace if flexible plastic or foil vent. Check outside where vent exhausts clean any obstructions. Last check your blower for damage, loose on motor shaft, broken veins or any obstruction in vent to back of dryer.

Look at this as an asset. The oven vents to that location. (gotta vent somewhere). You can use the heat to melt butter, keep something already cooked warm like the potatoes, dry pans after you've washed them... I like this feature!

Hot Point Dryer won't dry, gets hot on top.

An educated guess would be either the lint tube or the tube that exhausts the air outside is blocked with lint----no airflow or greatly reduced flow will cause this symptom.

Ice and condensation on top front of dehumidifier

If the unit is new and this is the first time you have operated it, it normal. If that is not the case, turn the unit OFF& unplug it and allow the unit to thaw completely. Once it has thawed, remove the air intake filter to see if it needs cleaning. I suspect that it will. You can vacuum it or if it's really dirty, wash it in warm water and hwashing liquid, thoroughly rinse it and allow it to completely dry, before reinstalling it.

The other thing you should check is the coolant coils. If they are dirty, wipe them off with warm water and wipe dry. Apply a thin coatinf of WD40, after drying them. Reassemble everything and take it for a test drive.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

All of the control buttons on my microwave/hood (except 2) are non-responsive. Our cleaner was here the day before we noticed it. She has cleaned for us for two years and there was not a problem until...

Possibly some water or cleaning liquid got inside the touch panel. The touch panel has several layers of plastic material. If water got in between it would eventually evaporate. You could speed it up by carefully warm it with a hair dryer (on low). If cleanser got in the control it could cause parmenent paths for electricity to flow in which case you would need to replace the touch pad. One thing you could try (if you are really handy) you could take the touch pad out and soak it in distilled water (it is no good anyway) and then dry it. Good luck.

I drop my ipod touch into the water...

Well, I can't guarantee that the following steps will work, but it's worth a try. Water is like poison to electronics. The thing you have to do is to turn it off immediately. If it stays on, then the water that is inside could short something out and you will lose you Touch forever. You need to dry it and make sure there is no sign of water inside or out. The one thing I would do is to place it over an air vent in your house and turn on the heat (or you can use a space heater if it's not cold enough for the heat). This will dry the insides and out, but you will have to do this for at least a couple of hours, and I would recommend overnight. Do not place directly on top of a space heater, as the extreme heat will screw up your touch as well. Place it close enough so it will get warm. Some people suggest putting in a bowl or dry, uncooked rice as rice absorbs moisture. You can try that as well after the heat.

Good luck.

Dehumidifier ices up

unplug and take unit apart, blow out dust then carefully spray some cleaner-degreaser on and wash both condenser and evaporator coils, then let dry throughly, try not to soak the electrics too much a little will dry, let dry throughly then start it and leave it run a few minutes carefully touch top of compressor head,if quite warm and one line isn't hot and the other line isn't cold entering and exiting the compressor and evap coil starts to ice again you may be low on freon(refrigerant)
