The headrest is hold by the two bars of the middle. The bars are engaged in two plastic guides fitted in the seat frame. The bars are locked by two little springs located in theses guides. They are very difficult to remove under the seat foam. The solution I used is a hammer (quite heavy) with a T bar from a sockets set . The diameter was exactly the same as the inner diameter of the plastic guide . Then I inserted this bar at the bottom end of the plastic guides and I hit the bottom of the mettalic bars with these tools and I managed. After the inspection, the springs were bended and I had to give the former shape they had before the removal.
Good luck ( sorry for my poor english but I'm french!)

How can i get a X Type Jaguar booth to open when the lock thats faulted?

If pushing the button will not open the trunk (boot), you will need to remove the rear seats to access the trunk compartment. Pull the bottom seat off by simply prying it. The fold down back rests are locked from the trunk on top so you will have to unscrew the retaining bolts from the bottom of the back rest to flip the seats up. Once inside, you will find a yellow pull handle that manually opens the trunk where the striker is. Pull it and try to have the replacement peice ready so you don't have to go thru that again.
