Is the battery charged?
If so
While somebody is turning the key, hit the starter motor with a hammer continuously until the car starts.

Nissan maxima 2000, related ignition switch but still as soon as battery is connected the relay clicks (near battery 3rd one) and tries to start the car without even key in the ignition...

the relay should not have any power to it. i would think there is a sort some were on the ignition. i would check the ignition wiring and make sure its not damaged or assembled wrong. relay should only get power when the key is in ignition and turned to start engine.

My 99 Durango was not starting all the time I replaced the ignition switch now the check lights don't come on when you turn ignition won't start I hear the starter pinion engaging what could be wrong

You did something wrong , maybe . Hooked it up wrong . Without looking at it and checking a wiring diagram and doing some electrical testing anyone on here would only be guessing . Your best bet would be have a qualified repair shop look at it . And a intermittent no start would probably becaused by a park neutral safety switch problem . If you have a automatic transmission .

i recommend you to RUN the scanner/computer for diagnostic and fix it. You can have some problem with PCM+or ignition coil+BCM+sensor +sparkplug+wires, distributo etc.
See the diagram attached. The electronico now in vehicle is complicated. God bless youea61b5c3-7e5f-48e3-893d-b55f6ae0a6b3.jpg

Key will not go in ignition

Wrong key?.....ha. No, sounds like the tumblers inside the ignition have "fallen". Try lifting the small pieces of metal inside the ignition with a paperclip or something similar. If you can move any of the pieces inside then you need an ignition. You may even be able to insert the key with the piece lifted. "very delicate".

Hello.
What sounds like happened, is that the ignition is not reading that the key is in there, but its still reading that the ignition is on. Try replacing the ignition, you may have jammed some tumblers in there needs a replacement. If that dont work, then there is something wrong with the electronic ignition. But that dont sound like whats wrong since the steering wheels is not locked and you can move the shifter back and forth. I think its a bad ignition. Hope this helps!

I have a 2000 subaru legacy on which the battery was was connected wrong, something got fried i think, not sure what. I can't get the ignition light on.

Check the fuses, they're located under the hood and in most vehicles they are under the dash or in the glove box. and check the fuse able link the leads from the alternator to your ignition module. When the battery was hooked up wrong it fried some fuse or the fuse able link, or even the bulb for the ignition light located behind the dash board. you can email me at donaldthunder@ymail.com and I'll check my manuals.
