SOURCE: I just bought a new motor and installed it but now

Centrifugal force.....If you replaced the motor only and not the blades, the blades are likely out of balance or possibly bent. Check for wobble and to see that the shaft is fitting tight inside the blade collar. If there is a bushing on the fan blade or shf itself, check it for play as well

SOURCE: Dayton Attic fan running backwards

If the fan blade is on properly, then you probably have the wiring reversed. If you connect a line from motor to red box wire, and other motor line to black box wire, it will turn clockwise. If you reverse the wiring it will turn counter-clockwise ;-)

Creme colored know shaped like a whistle that the interior broke from the wall control on the Dayton Fan--where can I order a replacement?

If you cannot mend it otherwise or fix it up with a tinkering then the part is available only with Dayton.
So check up with their dealer or the serivce outlet if this is closer to you , or search the web for the nearest centre mentioning you area of resisdence.

Attic fan stops running after one hour

I need to verify you have adaquate air flow, to cool the motor. If you have a window open, and the crawl hole open is there enough air flow into the the attic? It there is enough air flow and it still stops after about an hour, does this unit have a humidistate and a temperature switch on the housing or extension.
If all the switches are working correctly then I could be the motor overloading/heating shutting down and then reseting.

Dayton Attic fan running backwards

First see if the switch has a reverse position. Sometimes you turn the fan assembly in the frame, sometimes you turn the whole frame around. Take the cover off the wiring compartment to see if there are instructions there. Also check on the name plate on the motor, there may be instructions there. Attic fans are usually engineered to blow out.
