SOURCE: trying to replace 3 speed

Hi
The pull switch has 4 wires, L, 1, 2, 3.
Connect ' L' to the reverse switch red wire or the wire that is free.
Connect ' 3 ' to the main black ( hot ) wire entering the fan.
Connect ' 1 ' to the capacitor's lowest uF eg. ( 1.5 uF )
Connect ' 2 ' to the capacitor's next uF eg. ( 3 uF )
the Capaciotr also has to be connected to the neutral wire entering the fan, usually black attached to another color wire. If you have a VOM tester, veryfy that it is a neutral wire.

SOURCE: i installed a dimmer for

First thing I would do is check the connections inside the Unit the ones you made while installing make sure that all connections are tight and well insulated if this was not the problem return the unit for a new one hopefully it is just a faulty unit as this can sometimes happen.

Thumbs up if helpful feedback is appreciated!!!
Good Luck!!!

SOURCE: I have a dimmer switch installed and it wont work with the celing fan

Your question has two switches and 1 dimmer.
The fan switch works.
The light switch works.
The dimmer does not. What is the dimmer connected to?
Dimmers typically will not control fan speed unless they are rated to do that.
Do you have a 3-way switching where two switches control same light, and you installed the dimmer in place of 3-way switch?

How do i wire the fan in a 52 inch ceiling . i have wired the light but no fan

Depending on what the fan has as options and what wires are in the circuit it will be wired differently. If you want the fan and light to work at the same time connect the fan wire to the black light wire.

Compact Flourescents won't work in ceiling fan

Simply use regular bulbs. It sounds like it is switched electronically probably via a dimmer. If the CFL lamps are not specifically labeled dimmable they won't work. I have seen the LED lights work where the CFL lamps will not. If you want to use CFL then replace the dimmer.

I have a harbor breeze ceiling fan on a dimmer

You have 3 options. You can connect the fan blue and the fan black to the red ceiling wire. Then you will need to control the fan and light with the strings. The wall switch will turn off everything. Option 2 is make sure that there is a switch wired to the black ceiling wire. If there is a switch I would check to make sure the switch is working. Option 3 is to purchase a remote control unit for both and leave the wall switch to shutoff the whole unit. Hope this helps.

If you have a remote then you can't use the dimmer switch on the wall. Put in an on/off switch.

Dimmer not working but the light does come on.

What kind of wall switch do you have? Is it a remote wall switch? You can't use a basic Fan/light control with a remote.

I just installed a 52"

yes this is because the dimer is giving the light less power.you just need to change the switch to a single switch then your dimer will work right all the time. good luck

I installed a fan and it works good but the light

Is it a standard incandescent bulb or is it a compact fluorescent light? If it has a remote with a dimmer you shouldn't use a compact fluorescent bulb as they are not dimmable. CFLs may be damaged or damage a dimmer if they are used together.

Ceiling fan is controlled by dimmer

Yes, if the hot wire going up to the fan is coming off the dimmer, it is reduced voltage and will slow down. There maybe a separate hot from another switch??

Not sure if this is the exact ceiling fan/ light kit we have... but looks similar.

Turned out that it was the dimmer switch that had shorted out.

My hubby figured it out, and replaced it.
