The remote for the SC-HT900 will work with the SA-HT900. The SA-HT900 refers to the model number of the amplifier of the home theater system but the model number for the whole home theater system including the speakers is SC-HT900.

SOURCE: intermittent sound with Panasonic SC-HT900 home theater system

I will get back with you on this tommorow with more information when I can get the technical data I need from where I work.
These units are know for the problem you are describing.

If you have to connect all of your speakers to the subwoofer, then yes, you can replace the subwoofer and it will fix your problem. I just don't remember right now if this unit is the one with the amplifier built into the sub woofer, but I think it is.

Since you paid another repair center you really should take it back to them to fix it right. They probably did not test it long enough to verify if they fixed your problem.

I know it is a real pain to have to take it back, more so if it is far away, but the problem you are having is nothing you will be able to fix yourself unless you have some decent electronic troubleshooting and soldering skills.

Get back with you soon,
Dave

SOURCE: panasonic surround sound system model # sa-ht95

Error code ' F61 ' on most Panasonic models indicate that the built-in diagnostics has sensed a fault at the output stage. This would normally refer to a failed output amplifier IC (?P/N RSN704D66P?). In some instances, the fault could also be triggered by:

  • strands of Speaker wires inadvertently touching each other;
  • faulty speakers;
  • failed Cooling Fan of the output IC.

Options then are:
  • consider a DIY (do-it-yourself) repair only if familiar with electronic components & circuitry, use of a DVM/VOM and a soldering iron. Access to a Service manual would be an advanatge;
  • seek the services of an authorized service center specially if the unit is still under warranty;
  • consider other options based on downtime, cost of repair, parts of availability, age of unit and prices of comparable but newer models.

Good luck

SOURCE: Need Help

This is a major defect in the SA-HT830V dual deck that Panasonic did not honor! I've had two of these and the full lighted display blew out on both of them and one music channel does not work on the dvd player anymore. Piece of junk and I'm very upset with Panasonic for not helping/supporting their products!

Panasonic SC-HT900 Home Theater System with 5-Disc DVD Changer
Very attractive system with many features. Progressive scan DVD player looks great on my projector, thanks to the high end video circuitry in the 5 Disc DVD changer. Sound is very clear and accurately reproduced though the six speakers. Movie dialogue comes through very naturally. Does a fine job at decoding Dolby Surround. Movie "bass" effects are clear and pronounced through the active subwoofer. I've tested this system in store next to an expensive Bose and the quality is more or less comparable. It is a known fact Panasonic DVD players are among the best in the business. Many more expensive DVD players(costing considerably more than this system) made by other brands use Panasonic internals for their players.
All DVD players must contain an MPEG decoder. In addition, progressive scan DVDs must contain a special device called a deinterlacer. Interlaced video frames are sent to a television in two pieces, by first drawing all of the odd lines, then the even ones. The deinterlacer essentially doubles each frame of video(producing a very defined picture) by filling in missing information. That is the true meaning of "progressive scan." This is the basis for HDTV, and be aware that your (Projector,TV,LCD) must be able to display HDTV or progressive to take advantage of this great feature. As with any other product, deinterlacers vary in quality and must be able to handle various film encodings. Panasonic uses top notch internal hardware to perform the deinterlacing(DCDi) and decoding. The results are spectacular!
Don't expect the bass to blow your ears out - no system at or near this pricepoint will. The subwoofer is powered but yet conservative (but more than other systems in its class). Don't buy this unit to play at maximum volume. System can be cranked up to loud but not extreme voulme. Sound will be more than enough for rooms This unit also makes a great system for listening to FM Radio, CD/R etc. Unit supports many types of Discs. Music seems rich and pleasing, in some cases exceeding much more expensive units.
The speaker stands will save you the cost of buying wall mounts. This system has a plethora of features that are stated in the manual. For example, there are multiple surround modes, seating placement adjustments and digital input capability. Unfortunately the owners manual is written like an engineering course lab manual - so it may take the non- technical some time to learn all of the arcane features. Also, you should purchase at least a 16 gauge spool of speaker wire - do not use the doorbell wire that is supplied with the unit.
Overall I will give this unit 5 stars, because it is priced very well with respect to its competition (Sony Dream system 990) and it exceeds that and other products in its class in terms of quality and features. On the other hand, if you desire a very loud, extreme bass systems - don't consider a home theatre in a box. Purchase a component receiver/amp with large poweful speakers. And of course, a Panasonic progressive DVD player for the best video!

I have a panasonic home theatre model sa-ht900. everything plays fine but i have absolutely no sound at all.possible solutions?

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Pioneer-VSX-D510-Receivers-manual/id/385ci969/t/2/

≥Check the connections.

≥Turn the volume up.

≥Turn muting off.

≥Switch off the unit, determine and correct the cause, then switch the unit on.

Causes include:

-Shorting (bare wires touching) of positive and negative speaker wires.

-Using speakers with an impedance lower than that rated for this unit.

-Straining of the speakers through excessive volume or power.
-Using the unit in a hot environment without proper ventilation.

Panasonic sc-ht900

I hesitate to give this answer because you will not like it and maybe give me a bad rating for telling you the truth, but I am going to give it a try anyways in hopes that you will not shoot the messenger, so to speak.

These units are designed to be used only with other Panasonic models that are similar in design. I work at an authorized Panasonic service center and can tell you with certainty that you can not connect this to anything but model number SA-HT900 and maybe one or two others, but it was designed for the SA-HT900.

I would suggest looking on E-Bay for what you need. If you find a complete system that has the speakers bad or something like that, you may be able to get the part you need pretty cheap.

I hope this helps you, if you have any further questions feel free to just post them here and I will answer as soon as possible.
