Why is the steering column moving on my 2007 GL450?

there are probably small plastic lock pins that take up the slack in the column
these break of when a heavy pressure is applied to the wheel either by the drive or in an accident to allow the column to collapse
the fix is a new steering column
check the steering column for failed "U" joints or flexible connections
Take it to an accredited specialist steering shop for a proper diagnosis

How can I fix a faulty vale water vale working incorrect

the pressure activated switch is turned on to control a shutoff valve when the pressure in the clear tube reaches a certain level. If the tube is blocked, it will not get the light pressure on the air trapped by the column of water. Boyle s law P1V1=P2V2,
so replace (or clean out) tube with the same ID tube or the volume inside will not be correct for the rising column of water to activate the pressure switch.

Steering column top bearing replacment

double posted, with 1999 added.
the FSM says dont reuse steering wheel bolts.. (unique)
here is an online quote to get to the combo switch
quote;
Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. WARNING(bags can kill, my comment)
Wait two minutes for the airbag system reserve capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service.
  2. From below the steering column, remove the three screws that secure the lower steering column shroud to the multi-function switch mounting housing.
  3. Using hand pressure, push gently inward on both sides of the upper shroud near the parting line between the upper and lower shrouds to release the snap features that secure the two shroud halves together.
  4. Remove both the upper and lower shrouds from the steering column.
  5. Remove the Steering Control Module (SCM) from the steering column.
  6. Remove the two screws that secure the left multifunction switch to the SCM .
  7. Disengage the two retaining tabs , next to the screw mounts that secure the left multi-function switch to the SCM.
  8. Disconnect the left multi-function switch from the SCM.
To install:
  1. Position the left multi-function switch onto position on the Steering Control Module (SCM) .
  2. Engage the two retaining tabs, next to the screw mounts that secure the left multi-function switch and firmly snap into place.
  3. Install the two screws that secure the left multifunction switch to the SCM. Tighten the screws to 22 inch lbs. (2.5 Nm).
  4. Position the lower steering column shroud to the underside of the steering column.
  5. Install the three screws that secure the lower steering column shroud to the multi-function switch mounting housing. Tighten the screws to 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  6. Position the upper column shroud over the steering column with the hazard warning switch button inserted through the hole in the upper shroud.
  7. Align the snap features on the upper and lower shrouds and apply hand pressure to snap them together.
  8. Reconnect the battery negative cable.

Runs but only when applying pressure to the steering wheel

sound like loose wires to the ignition switch in the steering column. just remove steering column shroud and lower the steering column check the ignition switch wires.first disconnect negative battery cable before working on ignition switch. either switch wires loosen or switch could be bad.

The printouts produced a column of smear ink, some time with scratch at the top & bottom of the smeared column. the last part of the paper of the column leaving some hot ink dust

That sounds like the fixing film in the fuser has begun so shred itself. the film usually runs off centre and get crunched up at the end. A new film and possibly pressure roller will sort it out. Its fun to fit though!!

Power steering goes out intermittently. Had the steering column replaced 4 years ago now the problem is backm dealer said I may need new gearbox. And column replacement @ a cost of 1700.00

I dont think this car has a gear box,did you crash on that car to need to replace the steering column, you need to check first if the power steering pump has enogh pressure, the other part you need to check is the rack and pinion.

Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement in Powertrain Management.Remove the intermediate shaft shield from the steering gear.Place a drain pan below the steering gear. Remove the pressure and the return hoses from the power steering gear. Cap or tape the ends of the hoses and the gear fittings in order to prevent dirt from entering the system.Remove the lower intermediate shaft coupling bolt. Draw alignment marks on the lower intermediate shaft coupling and the steering shaft. Remove the lower intermediate shaft coupling from the steering shaft. Remove the pitman arm. Refer to Pitman Arm Replacement.Remove the steering gear mounting bolts and the washers from the frame. Remove the steering gear.

Carrier furnace burners will not light.if i blow at the burners it will light.I think maybe bad gas valve or not enough pressure

this sounds exactly like the problem. I replaced a gas valve yesterday in a Goodman furnace that had the same symptoms. I would check it or have it checked with a manometer before you replace the valve. If your inlet pressure is right and you cant get enough pressure by turning the adjustment screw clockwise, it is bad. LP should have @11-13inches of water column coming into the vavle and an outlet pressure of 7 inches of water column. Natural gas should have @5-7 inches coming in and an outlet pressure of 3.5 inches of water column

My 1998 saturn has a steering wheel problem. It is locked in park and will not unlock do I need to replace the whole steering column I can't start it ect..

Well, if your wheels are turned to one side it may just be that you have to put a lot of pressure on the steering wheel, which in turn puts a lot of pressure on the ignition lock, making it seem like your steering column is locked. You will have to take the pressure off of the ign lock so you can turn the key. I am talking about some serious pressure. Ask someone you know that is a "bigger person" to turn the wheel while you turn the key from the passengers side.

Steering

Is your wheel turned in one direction all the way?
Can you not turn the key to the on position?
If so try relieving the pressure off the steering column by applying pressure to the steering wheel in the opposite direction that the wheels are turned and try to turn the ignition on then.
Somtimes the pin on the steering column gets pressure applied to it when the wheel is turned in one direction fully.
Hope this helps
