I have a sharp video recorder and would like to - 7cddd04d-9a79-4bf1-afde-a56b7a6fccd9.jpgDoes the TV have a scart socket? Most VCR's have one of them you can just get a scart lead and connect it that way. If the scart is in use I suggest you get a scart switching box. Image shown, available from Amazon.

SOURCE: connection to Tv-monitor from a VCR

Yes. You need a

scart to VGA cable

or a

Scart to HDMI Cable.

The second one is more expensive but has a better quality picture. Your tv should have these two ports. The 'scart' goes into the back of the video and the VGA / HDMI goes into the TV. They can be purchased at any of the sites i have listed below.

www.maplin.co.uk/searchtemplate.asp?criteria=SCART%20TO%20VGA%20CONVERTER -

www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/scartleads.html -

Hope this help's you,

Hughie.

I have just bought a new PD-DVR100 DVD recorder and am trying to use it but when i press setup nothing else shows for me to make any settings.

I'm sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing in using the DVD Recorder. Based on the information you have provided, please follow the below troubleshooting steps and check the operation:

Please make sure that the connections are secure and proper. (You have not mentioned the type of connection that you're using to connect the Recorder to the TV. You may use Component, S-Video or Composite Video connection to setup the Recorder with the TV).

Please make sure that you have selected proper input on the TV to view the setup screen of the Recorder on the TV screen. (Most of the TVs have an INPUT button or TV/VIDEO button to change the input. If you're not sure with the input selection method, you may refer the manual of the TV or get back to me with the exact model # of the TV so that I can help you with INPUT SELECTION)

Turn off both TV and Recorder and check the operation.

Unplug the Recorder from wall outlet for more than two minutes to perform a Power resetting and check the operation.

Try connecting the Recorder to the TV using a different cable.

If the issue persists, please get back to me with more details about the issue like the type of connection and model # of the TV etc.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if you require any clarification on the provided steps.

Thanks for understanding.

No audio, no video but program guide displays

1. You should check you cabling connections at the satellite receiver to the TV.
2. Check the mode you are in on the HDMI cable
3. Your HDMI should have 3 modes in the set up screen (HDMI 1,2,3)

SHARP aquos 1080p HDTV: VCR image flickers when playback

I have the same model TV and the following worked for me. I am using A/V cables attached to Input1 on back of the TV.

On your Sharp TV remote control:
1. Select the Input (1-5) that is attached to your VCR.
2. Go to the menu and select options.
3. Change your color system to NTSC.

This should stop your picture frome flashing on and off.

You still may have a issue with the screen colors. I don't know of a way to address this, other than to make the picture monochrome.

Hope this helps.

Sharp LC37G4U Liquid Crystal Flat Screen

If this also happens on a DVD or video recorder, you could have a power supply issue or maybe a problem with the back light circuit. The best advice would be to take the TV back where you purchased it, if it is new. If it is not a new set, take the TV set to a repair shop for an estimate. Good Luck
