Can't get a picture on our free to air TV set it keeps coming up no signal, we have a picture and sound on foxtel

you may find that the aerial inside your home was disconnected and used to wire up Foxtel in the roof, some technicians do that,

meaning all your Tv Outs on the wall would now be connected to Foxtel now instead of the aerial

if you can gain access to the junction of where all the Cable Coax wiring is in the roof make sure they haven't used the tv aerial cables for Foxtel ....just go check where your Aerial comes in and see it is still connected to the junction and not pulled out and a foxtel is going into it instead of the aerial

Can anyone identify this PC Wallpaper

that's probably that your wallpaper isn't fit with your monitor resolution, for example,if your wallpaper size is 1280x1024 but your screen resolution (size) is 1024x768,it doesn't fit your screen and the wallpaper will only show half or even less
to check your current resolution,click
Start->Control Panel->click Appearance and Personalization->Click "adjust screen resolution" on the Display categories
you can see your current resolution and also you can set your resolution
To check the picture resolution, right click on the picture, select properties, click the Summary tab,and it doesn't show the resolution, click Advanced on the Summary tab
But I suggest you to download the wallpaper with a fit size instead of changing the screen resolution, because too high resolution will make your screen goes black
geez,i'm so sorry for my poor english
please rate this solution if it's work and let me know if you still has a problem.and thanks for using Fixya!

Our Hitachi 1080 Alis is zoomed in when watching Foxtel but is okay on TV and RGB. Can you please tell me how to fix? Thanks, Giselle

in not sure what foxtel is but if it is some sort cable provider some have there own picture size settings. it may be accessible through the picture settings on the cablebox if not you will have to ask the provider to help you go through the service mode to change the picture size. just knowing all other inputs are showing okay would lead me to suspect whatever plugged into the source. one more thing to verify is to plug in a dvd player or game console and see if that is zoomed in. if its not then your "foxtel" is to blame.

Hi Michelle,
Does the Foxtel have a slot in the back marked HDMI Out? If so, this is the best possible connection to the Bravia. However you would need to pick up the HDMI cable (like bestbuy) It is a video & sound all in one. Do the 6 cords end in RCA jacks, and are they color coded?

I was going to inquire if Foxtel is your cable provider but have established that already. Judging from a description of their service, you have a convertor associated with Foxtel.
See if you can call up your TV menu (for doing initial setup). If it shows up your set is probably OK with only the tuner a potential suspect and these are quite reliable in comparison to some of the other subassemblies in our sets, then I would contact your cable provider as it seems the cable box has expired.
If you have any other video source such as a camcorder with video output or a DVD or VCR, try those.

CT-F683 TV fault

Press setup on your foxtel remote, go to systems settings, and look for "TV Type" menu, you can change settings there, your TV is a 4.3 (square) not widescreen. Its not a telly problem your just giving it the wrong signal.

Buzzing and lines with Foxtel

I had this exact same problem, which was continuous pink bands or lines that rolled upwards, as well as a continuous hum or buzz. This problem was isolated to Foxtel; it didn't happen with the DVD. Differently, this problem happened immediately I changed from my really old TV to a new LCD TV. I experimented with the leads (Scart or otherwise) too without change. So I got Foxtel to come and have a look and the guy brought with him what he called an "isolator" which was a small box-shaped thing (about 3inches by 2 inches) that he added to the cable's its exterior connection point. Immediate and complete solution - no more lines or buzz!
