SOURCE: alpine amp and subs questions

it will depend on how you use the 2 alpine subs,, do you know what there individual impedance is [ ohms ] and how you intend on wiring them,,,in series, in parallel, in any case you must maintain the min load in order to load the amplifier properly,,,otherwise the amplifier will operate improperly and allow DC [ direct current ] to pass and fry your subs...so what I really need is more in formation

SOURCE: I have the MRP-M1000 amp.

Your best bet will be to wire 2 subs in parallel to the amp. Each sub should be rated for at least 300 watts rms at 4 ohms. This will give you a total impedance of 2 ohms, and your amp will put out 600 watts rms at that impedance. That way, each sub will receive 300 wats rms. I would not recommend wiring subs in parallel, as you will need two 1 ohm subs at 300 watts rms, which are harder to find and will be more expensive. A parallel circuit is the most efficient way to do it.

Friend of mines gave me a alpine 3516 power amp, was just wondering if I can hook it up or even use it for a stock stereo

Yes it can be used with most stock stereos. If you've never interfaced an amp with a factory radui before i highly recommend having it professionally installed.

What amp would be better to use with what speakers/sub? I have a KAC-7202 kenwood 920W maximum power (150wX2 RMS, 4ohms) (230wX2 RMS 2ohms) and then the other amp I have is a Alpine MRP-M500 mono power...

I'm using that Alpine right now for 2-12" subs and I have compared it to 6 or 7 other amps this month and most were 4 channel 150Watt/Channel Bridged to 300Watts x 2 and found the Alpine to be superior in both sound quality and loudness. The Alpine has also not turned off even with full volume for hours at a time, Very solid amp I was very surprised due to it's size!

I can no longer adjust my subwoofer level from my head unit. I used to be able to in my other car but since I put it in my new car I can no longer adjust it? I have the alpine cda-9886.

make sure that before the sub woofer is hooked into the stereo that the settings for the sub are blank that way there is no previous setting once you have hooked up the sub and amp.

Hey I have an Alpine CDA-9851 CD Player and was wondering how to hook up my two 10" Kicker subs, since there is no subwoofer connection on the back of the player.

First to start you need an amp something that is a little stronger than your subs. What you want to do is 'T' off your speaker wires into RCA's to hook up into the amp. There is a device you can buy or you can cut some RCA cables. There are a few down sides to do it this way because as you turn up the volume the Subs will get louder and start to distort a lot faster than hooking up proper. The best way to do it is to get a deck with RCA sub outputs. Good Luck

Hi stephen my names Josh. Its great you could find a second hand manual for the cda9830 and theres not any difference your manual will tell you need to know about the cda9830r as well. Your amp hook up will be very standard speakers and sub will match very well with the that alpine in your car.

Need to know

I'm assuming that you have an amp that you are installing these to. Its always tricky installing subs of different impedances. Do you have the model number of the amp that you are hooking them up to.
Most likely if you have a 2 channel amp, you would connect one sub to each channel as most amps can handle a 2ohm load in stereo, but don't bridge the amp with these two subwoofers without specific instruction from someone with experience as you will most likely overlad the amp. If you can be more specific with your set-up I'd be able to assist you more.

Amps

It comes down to Amperage and RMS, your best bet is to go in and talk to a salesman at a stereo shop. That way he can decide on what sort of power you want and how you wanna use the subs. But 1000amp AMP is probably a good start 4 channel of course. Alpine or SOny make some kick a$$ AMPS
