Hello Valeda, thank you for your question! I understand that the dryer will not heat; however is it not drying or heating? If it is not doing either or, I suggest try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household breaker to the off position. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn the dryer back on. Select a normal cycle and if these troubleshooting steps prove ineffective, you may wish to reach out to a professional to proceed further since the appliance could possibly have a defective heating element(s), blower assembly, wiring, control board or thermal limiter.

GAS dryer will operate, but not heat. No error codes showing

If not heating at all try this. Go to electrical panel box and find the breaker labeled Dryer. It should have 2 joined together levers. Turn it off and see that the dryer is OFF (this verifies you have the right one) Operate this breaker back and forth (on and off) at least ten times. Then put it in the ON position and try dryer again. If it works you have a bad (intermittent) circuit breaker. Get an electrical handyman to change the breaker. If changing the breaker does not fix it you may need an appliance repair person. Why this is. The cycling on and off of the heat at the dryer is rough on circuit breakers. If this dryer has been in place for some years and replaced another dryer it is probable that the circuit breaker was not changed. BTW the dryer functions (except heat) operate from one side of that 2 sided breaker, while the HEAT operates from both sides at HIGH current.

If my Samsung dryer belt was loose but still turning, will it stop the heat element? Because I had a problem earlier in the week with it heating. I took the back off and noticed the belt was freyed

Yes if the air flow is reduced because of a slipping belt that could cause the heating element to turn off due the temperature sensor being a high input. Remember the motor runs a fan as well as the dryer drum.

Whirpool dryer, no heat, timer is not going right

no heat and the timer not operating is an incoming power problem, shut off and reset the breaker or check both fuses at the power panel in the house, the element needs 240volts a.c. to heat and the drum motor that turns the clothes is on one side of the 240volts which will be 120 volts a.c. and the timer is on the other 120 volts a.c.,if you lose either phase either the timer or drum motor wont turn and for sure it will not heat up,also check the neutral terminal wire inside the dryer for burning off as it carries all the return current from both phase power wire,if this opens tho it will only heat and no drum or timer operation

My dryer stop heating and will not dyr bt the tub turns and still but out air

Hi,

Check the blown fuses and home’s circuit breaker tripped. Dryer use 2 household Fuses or a circuit breakers, If one is blown, the dryer may still operate but not heat. Alternatively, the dryer may heat, but it may not heat up as hot as it should. Replace the Fuses or reset the circuit breaker.

Another common cause of a dryer failing to heat is a faulty Heating Element. You will need to replace it.

Good Luck and have a nice day.
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

ELECTRIC DRYER WON'T HEAT, TURNS ON , BUT WON'T HEAT.

Hi,

If your dryer runs but doesn't heat, verify that all breakers (or fuses) are fine. If one is blown, the dryer may still operate but not heat.
Another common cause of a dryer failing to heat (or only partially heat) is a faulty element. You will need to replace it.

Good luck and have a nice day.

My frigid air dryer turns on and tumbles but will not heat up. We are doing renos and the duct(ing) is not connected to the dryer vent. Is that the cause? thanks.

No probably not the reason for not heating, what comes to mind first is check for proper 220/240 voltage is getting to the dryer, a dryer will run and seem to operate normally evn with getting only 110/115 volts but that is not enough power to energize the heating element to heat the air blowing into the dryer,or you may have a failed dryer heating element. Good luck !

Kenmore electric dryer 8662100 drum turns, no heat

you have probably lost one leg of your power supply feed 120volts+120volts=240volts,your motor will operate on 120volts, but the element won't,also if you have 240volts the neutral wire to the element can burn off w/heat and age
