Hi Mairaj, please click the link posted below. This is Asus download site for your board P5S800-VM. Suggest you bookmark this page in case you need another driver.
Creat a folder on your desktop & name it Audio.
Click the + sign next to Audio. If you are using Win XP home or Pro download,
Realtek ALC655 AC''97 Audio Driver V3.66 for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP(WHQL)/2003.
File size 24.17MB. Save file 32b366.zip in the folder you created.
The file 32b366.zip must be uncompressed before you can install it. If you do not have winzip please download this program for free from the link below. Install winzip into your PC.
Once the file 32b366.zip has been uncompressed you can install the software.
If you have more questions feel free to ask.
Good Luck & have a Great Weekend!

SOURCE: sound problem
One of the most common problems in PCs( Personal Computer) is the absence of sound, there are many people that ignore why their computer doesn't has sound at all.
The first thing you should know is that the reproduction of sound is possible thanks to a Hardware( Electronic Circuit) made with the purpose of processing sound.
Inside a pc you can find one or both of the two kinds of sound devices as follows:
- Integrated in the chipset( inside one chip known as South Bridge) soldered to the motherboard.
- Sound card ( a card that is plugged in one of motherboard slots, usually PCI ).
Which one is better ?
On a sound card you will find the best possible quality, because it is made only for that purpose, while the South Bridge has to deal with many other tasks like controlling hard drives, communication ports, etc, as you can see it is too much for a relatively small single chip).
To find out if your pc have already installed a sound device, look for small jacks where the plug of your headphones will fit, there are usually three of this jacks (called miniplug connectors).
- Audio out( Here you will plug your speakers),"usually green".
- Mic ( For your microphone),"usually pink"
- Aux in ( you can use this to connect a walkman, for example), "usually blue".
If you already have the sound device, the next thing you will need is a software called Sound( or Audio) Drivers, made by the manufacturer of the device, in order to serve as translator between the device and the operating system, so you will find specific drivers for windows 98(just for 98), win xp, win vista, etc.
Usually this drivers will come in one of the CDs you get when you buy the pc and you can download updated ones( fixed issues, more efficient, etc) on the manufacturer's website, so if you don't have the CD all you have to do is find out who made your device and what model it is.
I suggest you to SAVE this and other drivers, like the ones for
Graphics Adapters etc on CD if you are one of the persons tempted to format your hard drives, delete things from your system, download and install things without idea of what it is
or for simple precaution.
Hope this can be of any help.

The "audio-controller" is integrated into the Intel motherboard.
So, access 'www.intel.com' and follow the "Support" link to find & download & install the "audio" driver for your specific model of motherboard.
