Be CERTAIN the battery is good. Are all fuses good? Try brand new spark plugs. Disconnect the kill switch on the handle bar. Check the side stand kill switch for proper operation. Have the shop check the CDI ignition.

How do i test the stater and coil on 1979 honda mr50 dirt bike

Have you replaced the condensor? Do the points actually spark?
Have you checked HT lead and plug cap? Remove cap and place bare end of ht lead on cylinder head so that spark can jump from core to cylinder fin, DON'T hold it there... Kick engine over and look for spark at end of HT lead

Gilera cougar no spark

Not knowing about Gilera but Some general suggestions for ignition problems control if applicable could be: a bobin(coil) sparkplug plugconnector control the gap between flywheel and ignition coil, contact points, contact breaker to mass can have a problem or even a cable,a rotor under distributor hood. or ignition not on time,
If ordering for an engine an ignition coil don't forget always to give up the serialmotor number and year of build to the seller because of marketing technical modifications can be made in the same production year of different ignition coils or flywheels and other.

How does the ignition system work on a 1969 CT1? I have no spark but the coil only has one wire and it seems to be a ground?

http://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-ct1-1969_model8325/partslist/
If the coil only has one wire (apart from HT lead to sparkplug) it will plug into the loom to the same color wire with the appropriate male or female connection. The hard mounting of the coil to the frame provides the ground in this case. This provides the continuity of the circuit from the contact breaker (points) behind the flywheel magneto. The site above has all the sections of your bike in exploded views with all part names. Cheers.

I have took all the leads off from coil to plugs and forgot the set up on suzuki gsx600f Hreg

If you are sitting on the bike the left coil has an orange/white wire on the top and a white wire on the bottom. The HT leads go to plugs 1 4.The right coil has an orange/white lead on the top and a black/yellow wire on the bottom. The other HT leads go to 2 3.It doesnt matter which HT lead goes to either plug as thboth HT leads on the same coil fire at the same time (wasted spark system).Hope this has helped or you have already sorted it out.

One cylinder spark plug not firing- replaced plug ran well for 30 seconds then stopped firing

Hi
With Ignition switch off :-
1st Check for bad connections, broken/crushed wires, continuity & resistance between the cap, HT lead, coil, ignition coil primary wires
2nd Disconnect the CDI unit from its connector & check for the same between the loom side of the connector back to the coil
3rd Check coil is earthed

If all OK suspect the CDI unit but double check everything first( there are some more checks as well), as these are very expensive

Ride safe

Zx 6rr bogging down, will barely idle, replaced spark plugs, new battery and gas. all fuses are good and it only has 3800 miles on it

did you try testing the ht leads by putting a plug in it and touching it against metal you should see it sparking a bright blue sparks do this one at a time leave the otheir plugs in the bike and extract them one at a time having the bike in nuetral push the start button if all spark a strong spark your ht leads are fine if your bike has coils this will show the problem or it could be a rectifier ,or your carbs need a good cleaning and might need to be balanced hope this helps
