It has and on and off power switch. Locate it and push it. Or pull the power cord out of it if you are unable to find the switch.
The power switch is the one in the top left hand corner of the machine with the circle on it. It says "on" right above the circle. Press and hold the button for about 20 seconds or until the machine starts to power down. That will turn it off.
tcshoc, Do you mean to view on a DVD, because the camera has a hard drive and the movies are stored on it, and the SD card can save still photos on it. You can watch and preview you movies on a TV by connecting the camera to a monitor or a PC to edit the movies after you have loaded the software that came with the camera. Does that help? Remember as long as you can see the movies on the camera they are safe. With a 30 GB you can take a lot of footage. There is a switch position for playback or preview or for filming just check to see. You should be able to look at the menu to see how much time you have left for "taping" which is really storing. Enjoy your vacation, and edit you movies when you get home. randy320sgi
That looks very much like the slector switch has slipped inside and is out of position.
That can be fixed if the actual and very tiny switchover pins are not broken.
I have repaired one switch actually with parts from a S3000.
Works ok but extremely fiddely.
Otherwise it is a replacement of the small switchover board, which sits on top of the battery compartment.
Problem being: Fuji will not sell parts to us.
