Dawoo DVD Player showing No Disk error

When trying to play any DVD/VCD or any disk for that matter, my Daewoo DVD Player(model no not known), is showing the 'Loading the Disk' and finally showing 'No Disk'. Whats could be the reason for the this problem?

I have this same problem, but only intermittently. Sometimes it works for a week or so, then becomes arbitrary and shows "loading" then "no disk" for a period of time. It is not consistent in the problem.

How do I access the laser eye on the Daewoo DVD S151?

  • Anonymous Mar 07, 2009

My Daewoo DVDS151 player suddenly stopped playing DVDs (home recordings) but still plays CDs. I used CD lens cleaner disk and then opened the player to clean the lens with Q-tip and alcohol. But the problem continues. Is there a solution without taking it to repairperson. The player is a few years old.

You have dirty lens, try to cleaning with 100% cotton buds. or you have damage laser eye, or broken flex ribbon wire, but first you have to do is to cleaning the lens with cotton buds.. if not reading after you clean the lens! change the laser eye and flex ribbon wire.

Says its a bad disc, but will play in another player. is the format the problem, if it is , how do i change it

That message can be generated in only 2 occasions:
1. the disk has been burned at a high speed and because of that the difference between the reflectivity of the data point and the disk background is smaller than what this player can detect so the player rejects it. The only thing you can do is to burn it at a slower speed.
2. the disk is coded in another format that your player can decode. Actually the only formats that this very basic player can decode are the dvd and vcd. If you get a disk in any other format you will have to load it in a pc, convert it to vcd or dvd and burn it again to a disk. For that you must install and use a converter, one like

Solutions to incorrect disk error c105 & c104

Hello gjbrokke,

First make sure the disc is compatible with the dvd player (CD-R+ , or CD-R - )

Second make sure the region code of the dvd you burned is compatible with the dvd region settings on your dvd player.

One of those two are preventing the disc from playing in your sansui player.

Bad disk error no matter what disk is played.

try a cotton swab and len cleaner. rub a small amount on the laser eye and then dry it off. do thus several times. be careful and don't put to much on the cotton swab. it don't take alot

Daewoo DV-6T955B DVD Player Problem

If your DVD is less than a year old, still under manufacturers warranty.
The problem you have "no Disk" is because the laser is not reading the DVDs.

"no disc" message

sounds like you have a problem with the laser.laser has to focus a lot sharper to play dvd thus will play vcd but not dvd.Try cleaning first and if this doesnt work would suspect laser faulty,.

DVD player shows "no disk" messege even though there is a disk in the player

Either a disk problem, or a player problem. If you get the "no disk" message when using other disks(try originals if you were trying burnt), that aren't scratched, then it's possible that the lens needs cleaning. open the player, locate the lens, and gently brush off any accumulated dust. If you see none, then it will take a more serious repair, possibly to the motor assembly, or the lens mechanism. Good luck
