Did you move the child lock lever to the right and then pull door open? You can also disable that feature.

Dishwasher will not fill with water

depending on the make and model of dishwasher the solution can vary. A good guess (assuming the inlet hose is connected and tap is turned on), is the water pressure setting may not be matching with your normal mains pressure. Check installation instructions for setting mains water pressure. Also some dishwashers like Bosch have special inlet hoses which detect water leakage and shut of the water inlet valve. Need to check if your dishwasher has got this feature and need to confirm the hose is correctly fitted.
More importantly check when you turn wash cycle on if you hear click of the inlet valve or not.

Some advice please. I've been given a Bosch SMS 5072 and I'm fitting it in my kitchen. Is the drain going to work if I push the whole line down through the floor? Or is it like a clothes washing machine...

Hello, Welcome to fixya, Yes indeed it does need to be above the water level in the unit. Bosch recommends "looping" the drain behind the dishwasher or as an alternative as close to the machine as possible and not to exceed '12ft of drain line. Keep in mind the entry point of the hose into the home plumbing must also be above the water level in the machine. I can send you a "pdf" of the Bosch installation guide if you provide an email address and if you're interested. **Also recommended** - If using a "johnston T" or a siphon break, switch the drain pump to a 4 vane instead of the original 6 or 9 vane. Regards, Macmarkus :)

Bosch dishwasher was started when water supply was off

You could have a blockage in the pump solinoid..if there was some plumbing done in the can get small pieces of copper that come from cutting the pipes stuck in side of smaller water lines such as dish washers and ice makers... its a little bit of work but you'll have to remove the dish machine and double check that the water is in deed getting to the dish machine... if it is then you'll start by checking that nothing is clogging the pump...normally the punp is located right where the water connects to the machine...good luck

Have just plumbed in machine. No water going into machine. Electrics all fine.

check if the water valve is opened, also you can check the check the solenoid connections and the probe. also you can put a bucket or two of water directly in the dish washer to check if the probe and ather parts is ok.

New Bosch dishwasher mold before cycle

The Bosch is a very good dishwasher and it is very airtight. I would suggest you NOT leave the dishes inside that long, and always use the Power Scrub Plus cycle if you have it. It will get the water as hot as possible so mold does not continue to grow in the plumbing and filters.

It is NOT the dishwasher unit causing the problem.

Motor runs when door is open- water does not come in- seems stuck

depending on the brand and mdl the unit may be equipped with an overflow safety. If ther is water under the dishwasher in the floor pan then the sensors will trick the dishwasher into thinking it is leaking. Check under the kick plate . if it is moist then take a hair dryer and dry it up up until there is no moisture at all. This should cancel out the pump command and you can start over .

Bosch dishwasher wont take in water through the cold inlet

First of all, the hot water line should be supplying the dishwasher, not the cold water line. That being said, if the machine is hooked up to cold water line, the only reason why no water is coming in would be that the valve is not open. Look under the sink to see if that is where the dishwasher line is attached to the cold supply. If not there, perhaps in the basement. Open that valve and you should have water.
Finally, if there is no water coming in and you have a lime deposit problem with your water it is possible that the line is full of lime and will have to be changed. good luck with this.

Bosch dishwasher - Brand new. Will turn on but no water coming into the machine (will not prime). Water connection has been checked.

Check your float assembly. It may be sticking. Check it to make sure the shaft is clean and the float goes up and down.
