Since you aren't specific about the model of Belkin router you are using, I can only give you some general advice. This is what is have from MY Belkin router manual. Yours may be different....
UPnP (Universal Plug-and-Play) is yet another advanced feature offered by your Belkin Router. It is a technology that offers seamless operation of voice messaging, video messaging, games, and other applications that are UPnP-compliant. Some applications require the Router's firewall to be configured in a specific way to operate properly. This usually requires opening TCP and UDP ports. An application that is UPnP-compliant has the ability to communicate with the Router, basically "telling" the Router which way it needs the firewall configured. The Router ships with the UPnP feature disabled. If you are using any applications that are UPnP-compliant, and wish to take advantage of the UPnP features, you can enable the UPnP feature. Simply select "Enable" in the "UPnP Enabling" section of the "System Settings" page. Click "Apply Changes" to save the change.
you must access your router settings by opening up a browser and typing in your router's IP in the address bar at the top of the page (ex: 192.168.2.1) it will prompt you for a pass, default is usually admin or leave it blank. Once in you shold check you dns and upnp is open
Using your Internet browser, you can access the Router's Web-Based Advanced User Interface. In your browser, type "192.168.2.1" (do not type in anything else such as "http://" or "www"). Then press the "Enter" key.
Click login, the router comes with no password set, so unless you have changed the password, just click login.
To take advantage of the UPnP features, you
can enable the UPnP feature. Simply select "Enable" in the "UPnP Enabling" section of the "Utilities" page. Click "Apply Changes" to save the change.
Hi, you can enable UPnP on a Linksys WRT54GS router by logging in and then clicking on the Administration tab. The first sub-tab is Management, and at the bottom of that page there are buttons to enable or disable UPnP. Click Enable and then click Save Settings at the bottom of the screen.
Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) allows discovery of UPnP enabled devices in a network environment. UPnP is only available on Windows Me and XP. If you are not using either operating system on any of your computers, or do not want to use UPnP, then it is recommended to disable UPnP on the router.
Step 1 Open a web browser and type the IP address of the wireless router in the address bar (default is 192.168.0.1). Press Enter.
Step 2 The default username is admin (all lower case) and the default password is blank (nothing). Click OK.
Step 3 Click the Tools tab then click Misc. to the left.
Step 4 Under the UPnP Settings section, select Enabled using the radio buttons to enable UPnP on the wireless router, or select Disabled using the radio buttons to disable it.
Step 5 Click Apply and then click Continue to save the new settings.
