No power to my player "909 - Pioneer DVL-909 DVD Player

1. Area code 909 is a California telephone area code that covers far eastern Los Angeles County and southwestern San Bernardino County. The 909 area code was split from area code 714 on November 14, 1992. Western Riverside County was split off from 909 into area code 951 on July 17, 2004.

Check you have 14 volts on pin 3 of the driver chip for the meter.

Try to see if the drawers are blocked by something either inside or outside of the case.

If the player does not play even known working discs (both CD and DVD), you may want to try first to have the lens cleaned out with a disc cleaner which should be available in most DVD stores. If that does not work you may want to open the device if it is out of warranty and inspect the drive and the head. See if the lens is actually moving or may need replacement.

Sounds like a belt is slipping.
wont open, wont close, makes clicking/grinding noises etc.

It could be electrical or mechanical. Without checking there is no way to be sure. You can get the service manual for your model for 10.00 at the following link. That should get the problem taken care off.
