If the printer still says to replace transfer roller even after it's replaced, then remove transfer roller and manually turn the gears on the transfer roller a few times. It must get stuck or something. Then replace the transfer roller and it should work.
Does it make a noise as if its doing anything? Most common thing is the pickup roller has worn out, they're really easy to replace, you can just search google or ebay for - pickup roller and whatever the model number of your printer is to find it
The two common things that cause this type of problem are: 1) low toner - remove the toner and shake it from side to side to distribute the toner evenly in the cartridge to test. If the print gets better then you need to get a new toner cartridge because your is almost out. 2) The transfer roller that charges the paper to allow the toner to transfer to the page is worn out and will need to be replaced. The roller is user replaceable and comes in the maintenance roller kit that you can get here: http://www.ccl-la.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=71 Replacing the rollers takes about 10 minutes or less.
I hope this helps you get your print going again. BuddyMc
Normally the wrench symbol indicates that certain parts are near the end of their usefull life.
Such things as Developer, Drum, Cleaning Blade, possibly also parts in the Fusing unit such as the Heat Roller or Press Roller...this will depend on make and model and the number of copies on the machine.
Think of it like your car, you know that you have to change the oil,Transmission fluid, Brake pads, Tires etc, etc, etc,...but for a time the car is still running OK even tho' these parts are due to be replaced, you can keep driving till your brakes don't work at all, or the engine blows because you didnt change the oil; ...I think you get my meaning....its your choice when you want to do the maintenance...the machine just has an indicator to tell you when IT thinks it has run the appropriate number of copies for certain items to be replaced.
One of two things, both will require a fuser replacement. Either the over hear thermostat has open, or and most likely the heating element built into the heat roller has failed. Normally the heating element burns out and displays that message, I have not found that roller assembly spared, and even if you try and swap one from a used fuser to new, they are really dificult to change because of the spring end contacts. In simple terms, replace the fuser and you will fix the problem.
The ruber tyres on the pick rollers can harden with age, even if you are not using it. Try applying gum turpentine to rubber tyre with Q tip. This is used to keep a printer picking up untill replacemant rollers can be fitted.
To reset page counter after replacing the OPC belt or FC Roller please follow the steps below:

If you have replaced the FC Roller then select this option by pressing MENU/ENTER key. If you have replaced the OPC belt then change this option by pressing MEDIA key so the display changes to "Utility Menu Clear Belt CG".
