I have the sony cyber shot DSC-W230 camera and I am wondering if I can select a number of pictures and insert a date. Instead of going through each picture and inserting the date that way?

No, unfortunately there's no way to batch insert a date to a bunch of photos you've already taken. If you're wanting a date on all the photos I'd suggest going into the menu and there's an option so that the date and time is recorded onto the photos.

When i take picture, the picture is white n some time become very very bright, but if take video is ok.

this can be usually associated with your white balance in still camera mode.
Check to see your white balance is set correctly or just set it to auto. Also make sure the mode you are in it set. (ie. indoor, outdoor, auto, speed)

SETTING FOR UNDERWATER PHOTOS USING A CYBER-SHOT DSC-W220

Under water scene selection mode in the camera is to capture the images of the objects inside the water like fish etc. It gives a clear picture of the objects under water unlike other modes. It does not mean that the camera is water proof and you can insert the camera in water and capture images. If you have any further questions, please reply. Regards

DSC-W55 Disrupted modes.

YOUR MODE SWITCH IS SET TO VIDEO AND WHAT YOU ARE TAKING ARE ACTUALLY SHORT VIDEO CLIPS, INSTEAD OF PICTURES! IF YOU WANT TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS YOU NEED TO RESET THE MODE SWITCH TO A SETTING OTHER THAN VIDEO. SOMETHING LIKE SCENERY, FLOWERS,PEOPLE, ETC. YOU SHOULD SEE THESE ON THE MODE SWITCH, YOU MAY ALSO GO ONLINE TO SONY DSC-W50 AND VIEW THE USER MANUAL AND STUDY THE DIFFERENT MODES OF PHOTOS. Won't Take Photo

Hit buttons for the ISO settings on the photo you just took; if the settings are way off, maybe you can correct those or select a mode which gets you a proper image in the LCD; or reset the camera.

I for one wish I would jog the camera to a local shop for free adjustment (e.g. lens reattachment) the first time I ran into symptoms like that. I always let it fester 10 min, though.
