How to thread the singer 20u33? The tension assembly is new, don't know where the wire is sposed to be...

When you thread the top thread, the thread will drop down on the right side of the tension mechanism and go around the bottom (clockwise) and up the left side. Grab the thread somewhere above the tension mechanism with your right hand and then pull the toward the right (as though you are going to close the circle around the tension disk. The thread should pull on the metal wire (spring) and your thread should pop into the correct position of the tension disk. When you release the thread, the wire spring should pop back to the left. Then you will continue threading through the remaining thread guides and the take-up lever.

Setting a elna 792d for rolled hem

I don't know your model in particular but generally this is how you set up a serger/overlocker to create a rolled hem. Remove the left hand needle and thread if 4 threads are threaded). Now there is usually a lever around the stitching area that you slide back towards you to remove the stitching finger back (disengaged). Then you adjust the top looper tension looser (about 2-3) and lower looper tension tighter (7 or 8). Leave needle tension at normal tension (5). You may need to move the cutting blade to the right too. The technique is to cut the fabric wider but with a narrow stitch so the cut edge rolls under within the stitching. You want the top looper thread really loose so it rolls right around underneath up against the needle thread, the lower looper thread needs to be tight and almost invisible, pulling the upper looper thread down. I usually do a few test runs and check the stitching. Once happy, I turn the stitch length right down to 1 so it is very dense. This uses a lot of thread up.

Ideally use a wooly overlock thread on the upper looper as this "fluffs" out once stitched and "fills" in covering the fabric edge completely.

How to thread the bobbin on a singer electronic 4562?

Do you need to wind the bobbin? If you just need put in the bobbin, make sure that the needle is in the highest position and that the presser foot is up. Slide open the cover by moving it towards you. Pull about 4" of thread from the bobbin and hold the bobbin such that the thread is coming off in a counter-clockwise direction. Put the bobbin into the bobbin case and secure the thread in the notch near the center bottom of the bobbin case. Next guide the thread into the notch to the left (near 7 on an analog clock). Hold onto the thread and slide the cover closed. To bring up the thread, make sure that the needle is threaded as well. Turn the hand wheel slowly towards you while you hold the needle thread with your left hand. Turn the wheel until the needle comes back out of the needle plate. Pull gently on the needle thread. You should see a loop of thread around the needle thread. Gently untangle this loop until you get to the end of the bobbin thread. Pull the needle thread through the opening on the left side of the presser foot. Then pull both threads to the back of the machine.

Most Singer sewing machines are available here: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals . The direct link to the manual for the 4562 is http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/435_5_8_10_16_22_dial.pdf . The details and images for winding the bobbin is on page 13. Inserting the bobbin and raising the bobbin thread is on pages 15-16.

I hope this helps.

My singer 7469 lights are all blinking she won't sew

flashing lights, beeping sound are error signs its posiibly the upper tension path is not threaded correctly. Check that the transparent thread path located at the top of the machine is threaded correctly.
Hold thread in both hands and slip under transparent thread guide. While holding the thread securely, pull the thread towards you and then slip it back and forth like you were flossing. You should hear or feel two clicks as the thread slips past the thread guides. 2ca6d1db-fd79-4114-9d73-88b025c69c68.jpg

Threading a needle

1. Turn handwheel toward you 2. Raise presser foot up 3. Pull thread from spool and pull taut under each tension disk. It's important to "feel" the "click" if you are new to threading machine 4.Make sure after all tension disks threaded that you put thread behind the slot in back of your needle. It's a little groove to hold thread securely. 5. Pull thread toward you 6. Thread needle eye front to back 7. Pick up thread under gently pull taut in front of you 8. Lower presser foot and turn handwheel toward you. A loop will form under the needle where needle thread has picked up the bobbin thread. Carefully take both threads that have made a single loop and pull toward you 9. Put threads under presser foot just lift put threads under and pull 5 -6 inches thread BACK and UNDER that presser foot Done! Hope this helps, my friend! Jimmy

Singer 2517c -I need Threading instructions please. Also the top thread is loose -how do I fix that

Lift the needle to the highest point by turning the handwheel. Lift the pressure foot to release the tension on the system. Place the spool on the spool pin and put the spool cap on to hold the spool firmly.

Next bring the thread to the thread guide and snap it into the guide. Then slide the thread under the guide and through the slot (use one hand). Next lead the thread down on the right of the tension knob and up on the left. This puts the thread in the tension discs. Next slip the thread into the take up lever. (Bring the thread to the top of the lever and back towards the machine. Then slide the thread into the slot on the take up lever and then back towards you.

Next lead the thread through the next pair of guides. One is on the machine below the take up lever; the other is attached to the needle holder.

Finally thread the needles from front to back.

First check if there is a slight drag on the upper thread when you pull it through the machine (pulling it under the foot of the machine). Move the tension knob to the right to increase the tension. When you stitch a test piece, your top thread is visible on the bottom of your sewing thread, rotate the tension knob to the right by half a turn (get the dot closer to a higher number).

If there is no change in the tension as you turn the knob, take the machine for service. The springs in the tension system may need to be replaced.

The manual is available from Singer here: http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html . Enter only the 2517 model (leave off the c). A pdf is available for free; there is also an option to order a hard copy. A picture of the threading route is on page 28 of the pdf (page 26 as the manual is numbered).

I hope this helps.

How to thread the bobbin on a singer simple sewing machine

Drop-in bobbin: Note: thread must change direction when entering bobbin shuttle notch. Usually bobbin will turn counter-clockwise when threaded properly.

1. hold bobbin so that the tail of thread is facing to left.
2. drop bobbin into bobbin shuttle.
3. pull thread toward you.
4. guide thread into notch and pull to left so that slot engages thread.
5. pull thread diagonally across shuttle toward back of machine.
6. draw bobbin thread up through needle plate with threaded needle.

I HAVE A SINGER SEWING MACHINE MODEL 2732 AND NEED TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE THE BOBBIN COME UP. I AM LOOKING FOR THE MANUAL FOR THIS MODEL. PLEASE HELP.

When threading your needle make sure you pull enough thread through...a good 4 inches will do..hold the end of the thread and turn your hand wheel by hand until needle comes back up...you should have a loop around your upper thread ...pull this loop out towards you..you should now have two threads..cut threads till about 2 inches and make sure you position threads through the center of your sewing foot and towards the back of your machine. Good Luck

I can't find my manual and cn not get the bobbin to thread correctly

you need to insert the bobbin so that when the thread pulls off it spins counter clockwise. on the side closest to you there is a notch that you slip the thread into and then pull along the side towards the back of the machine staying on the left. once you've done that you can manually turn the knob on the side to make the needle cycle down so that the upper thread will pull up the bobbin thread.
