Question about HP Photosmart 735 Digital Camera

1 Answer

HP 735 power on

A few times in the past my HP 735 would not switch on on the first attempt, but did switch on and performed normaly after the second attempt. Now it does not switch on at all, I have ensured that the batteries are fully charged, even replaced them with new ones, but still no joy. What is the worst case senario I could expect, i.s what is the most it could cost to repair? Could you recommend where to take it for repairs?

Re: HP 735 power on

It sound like an on/off switch issue. Best thing will be contact HP appropriate service center and ask how much will cost to repair it. It might be that the reparing cost will be such that it will not be worth to repair it.

The camera turns on, then after a few seconds turns off. The lens is in and does not start to come out.

It is not a good sign when the lens does not come out. It could ba it is stuck in the barrel, but it also could indicate the battery has not enough power to drive the lens out. When the camera does not detect the lens is out in a certain time, it automatically will shut down, to limit the damage. Check if you can spot something, why the lens does not move and use a good battery (batteries)

Camera won't stay on with new batteries

Always charge NiMH batteries before using them for the first time, or if they have not been used for a long period.
Always charge sets of batteries (2 or 4) together.
Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In some cases, alkaline batteries may have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended.
AA manganese (Zinc-Carbon) should not be used. hey have limited power and can leak in a short time, destroying a camera.

Cannot get video off camera onto computer!

You mean pictures come off but not video? Why not plug the card directly into your card slot on your PC rather than using the camera cable?
If you don't have a card slot, you can buy a USB to SD adapter for $10-$15. Then just copy /paste the file(s) directly from the card to your PC.
Just a suggestion.

Can't format 2 GB sd card for HP 735 camera

Make sure the SD card is unlocked. There's a tiny switch on the side. Put it into the camera. Under storage, when you select the card, also select format.

Hp 735 camera error e106 then it turns off

When the camera is turned on, the lens is stuck either in or out and the camera gives the error E104 , E105 , or E106 . The camera then turns itself off. Causes These errors display because the lens will not move. There are several reasons why the camera lens might not move:
  • something is blocking the lens
  • the firmware version is old
  • the camera has been abused
  • foreign material is inside the lens or
  • the lens is loose or completely off the track
Solution Follow all of the steps listed below.
  1. Perform a power reset on the camera.
    1. Turn off the camera and remove any optional memory card.
    2. Hold the ON/OFF switch in the ON position until the HP logo displays and then disappears.
    3. The camera is now reset. When the camera is turned back on it should prompt for the date and time.
  2. If the camera does not display an error after the reset and appears to be functioning properly, it is imperative to check and update the firmware. The firmware update corrects the lens positioning issue that can cause E104, E105, and E106 errors with the camera. Determine if an update is needed by following the steps below to check the current version of the firmware on the camera:
    1. Before turning the camera on, press and hold the Flash button.
    2. While the Flash button is depressed, turn on the camera. A Service Screen displays.
    3. Located at the bottom of the screen is an entry, F/W.
    4. If the version of the firmware is lower than 1.12, then the firmware update is required and should be performed immediately. See the HP document Recommended Firmware Updates for Photosmart 733 and 735 Digital Cameras .

Keeps saying memory is full

My name is Vikram Kumar Thumu, from India-Hyderabad. I have seen your message on the issue related to error message  that " Memory is Full "  . I would like to provide my suggestions on the issue. I hope that this should work for you and will resolve the issue.

I guess that this could be your error message " Card full
or Memory full". The possible cause could be Insufficient room in internal memory or on the memory card to save more images. To resolve the issue please unload images from the camera to your computer, then delete all images from the memory card or internal memory. Or put a new memory card in the camera.

Please try to Power Reset the Camera once,  I hope this could work on AF flashing issue.

Steps are:
Resetting the camera can correct many issues, such as the camera locking up or not turning off. The reset drains the power and, in some cases, causes the camera settings to revert to factory defaults.

Resetting the camera returns all settings to the factory defaults. Any images or video clips stored in memory are retained.

Perform a power reset of the camera

Follow the instructions below to reset your HP Photosmart camera.

  1. Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds.
  2. Release the Power button.
  3. Press the Power button to turn on the camera.
  4. When the camera turns on, you might be prompted to set the date and time.

When turning on the camera normally, press and immediately release the power button. If the power button is held for more than five seconds while turning on the camera, the camera might reset automatically while the lens is extending.
