That motherboard is used in my Compaq Presario 6010US computer. Why not go to the HP web site and download your drivers.

I could be a realtek sound chip, althouh XP normally has this built in,so go to the link below for the driver. http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ If its not realtek you need to find out the chipset fitted.

I don't have mother board cd of compaq amd athlon(tm) LE 1660.

If that is a Compaq Computer then you will need to go to the Compaq Website and enter your model number and operating system and you will see the list of available drivers for download. AMD only provides drivers for their products and you won't need drivers for the CPU so you won't need to go there. Your second best option, unless you put a different sound card in the computer than the one Compaq put in it, will be the website for the sound card manufacturer.

Dont have sound driver cd for amd athlon xp 2400 so plz get me sound driver

Is the sound-card "integrated" into the motherboard, or is it a separate adapter-card that is connected to the motherboard?

If the former, then the manufacturer of the motherboard will have the device-driver available on their web-site.

If the latter, then the manufacturer of the sound-card will have the device-driver available for download from their web-site.

Or, try "Windows Update" and "custom" and then look in the "Optional Hardware" section.

Motherboard problem

If you are getting no beeps then this would usually indicate the motherboard is fried. If you have a test video card that you can put into the machine I would try that and seeing if you get a signal then. If you still don't get anything and you want to look at getting it fixed I would take it someplace to have at least a diagnostic run on it. Some places will do a test of the video card for you at no cost.

How to upgrade

Here is the list of compatible processors for your motherboard:

AMD Athlon 650, 700, 750, 800, 850, 900, 950, 1.0G, 1.1G, 1.2G, 1.3G, 1.33G, 1.4G (Thunderbird)
AMD Athlon MP 1.0G, 1.2G, 1500+, 1600+, 1800+, 1900+, 2000+, 2100+ (Palomino)
AMD Athlon MP 2000+, 2200+, 2400+, 2600+ (Thoroughbred)
AMD Athlon MP 2800+ (Barton)
AMD Athlon XP 1500+, 1600+, 1700+, 1800+, 1900+, 2000+, 2100+ (Palomino)
AMD Athlon XP 1600+, 1700+, 1800+, 1900+, 2000+, 2100+, 2200+, 2400+, 2600+, 2700+, 2800+ (Thoroughbred)
AMD Athlon XP 2500+, 2600+, 2800+, 3000+, 3200+ (Barton)
AMD Athlon XP 2000+, 2200+, 2400+ (Thorton)
AMD Sempron 2200+, 2300+, 2400+, 2500+, 2600+, 2800+ (Thoroughbred)
AMD Sempron 2200+, 2400+, 2500+, 2600+, 2800+ (Thorton)
AMD Sempron 3000+ (Barton)
AMD Duron 600, 650, 700, 750, 800, 850, 900, 950 (Spitfire)
AMD Duron 1.0G, 1.1G, 1.2G, 1.3G (Morgan)
AMD Duron 1.4G, 1.6G, 1.8G (Applebred)
You motherboard uses a "Socket A" CPU and therefore has limits to how high you can go.. I would recommend the XP 2200 or 2400+ as a good choice, but you can make your own choice.

Graphics cards and sound cards

Hi

You don't need any special sound and graphics card to support AMD Athlon 1700+ Processor.

Just ensure you have a systemboard that support Socket 462 (also called Socket A). Sound and graphics support are generally a feature of the systemboard in use.

Check Socket A AMD Processor Installation Guide for more info - http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/white_papers_and_tech_docs/23986.pdf
