Question about Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphic Calculator

I can enter multiple equations just fine. My problem is every time I press enter to select another equation the one that was already selected gets deselected. Because of this I can only graph one equation at a time. Any Ideas on how to fix this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Can't select multiple equations to graph at the same...

On the TI-84 there is an application called Transfrm. When active it prevents you from graphing multiple functions at the same time. To fix this, select Transfrm fom the APPS menu (it was at the bottom of mine) and select 1:Uninstall. That should fix the issue

Re: Can't select multiple equations to graph at the same...

ABastias's solution worked for me too :]

My calculator wouldn't delete the application properly, so I had to delete it through the computer, but either way, it works now!

ABastias solution worked for me!

What happened with me was i was looking on http://www.ticalc.org/basics/calculators/ti-84plus.html

for programs and i used one that was meant to find the area between two functions, after I installed that one the symbols next to my Y1 , Y2, Y3, and etc. changed to something weird instead of the original backslash. anyway, this worked! cool!

Re: Can't select multiple equations to graph at the same...

I dont know what caused it but mine was like this out of box to, teacher said she had seen it on alot of 84s, nothing we tried working till she cleared the mem, after that the y= functions changed, those icons to the left became backslashes and we were able to select multiple functions.

After you enter the data draw the SCATTER plot first.

When you perform the (linear) regression analysis LineReg, save the regression equation to a function, for example Y1

The syntax is

LineReg L1, L2, Y1 ENTER

From the Stat>CALC menu press LineReg

The command echoes on command line

Press [2nd][1] to enter the L1 list on command line

Press [,] to separate

Press [2nd] [2] to enter L2 on the command line

Press [,] the comma again

Press [VARS][>][Y-Vars][1~Function][1:Y1] [ENTER]

Press [GRAPH] to have the regression line equation drawn

on the same screen as the Scatter Plot you drew before.

Here it is.

When you enter a function you should press [ENTER] to validate. At the same time, the cursor moves to the next line. Verify that the = sign on the equation already entered is still highlighted.

If for some reason the = sign of an equation is no longer highlighted, use arrow keys to move cursor on the = sign and press [ENTER].

If only one = sign remains highlighted and all others are not, then in all probability the application Transfrm has been executed before and is still lingering in RAM. When in RAM, it takes over the graphing capabilities of the native OS. This prevents you from drawing more than one graph. You must unload it from memory.

The Transfrm application for dynamic geometry is probably active in memory. You must purge it from RAM

- Press APPS
- Scroll Up or Down (Up is faster) to find Transfm.
- Select it and press ENTER
- Press the number corresponding to the option Uninstall.
- Once the APP is kicked out of memory you will be able to draw multiple functions.

This is my last post. It seems that I squanderd my time for zilch. There is a simple way to reset the defaults or the RAM. I stopped suggesting it because ..(what is the point?).

Press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Yes] [ENTER]. Message RAM cleared is displayed on screen. Press [CLEAR] key. Screen should clear the message.

If that does not solve your problem..

Press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Yes] [ENTER]. Message RAM cleared is displayed on screen. Press [CLEAR] key. Screen should clear the message.

Hello,

The marking that so puzzle you define the type of line (or dots) to represent the graphs. Enter as many functions as there are Y variables.

After entering a function press [ENTER] to jump to the next one.

When finished entering all functions press GRAPH. If you want graphs drawn one after the other, in MODE highlight Sequential (6th line) and press ENTER. If you want graphs drawn simultaneously, in MODE (6th line) highlight Simul and press ENTER. Press 2ND QUIT to return to previous screen . Execute graph again.

Hope itr helps.

The first solution will allow you to watch your
calculator graph two equations simultaneously rather than finishing one
before graphing the next; it won't solve the problem of having the
calculator unselect one equation when you select a second. To fix
that problem, try the following:

In order to select additional graphs, the Transformation Graphing App will need to be uninstalled from the TI-83 Plus Family and TI-84 Plus Family. Uninstalling the App does not erase it from the calculator, it disables it from interfering with the normal graphing modes. Below are the steps to successfully uninstall the App.
