I'm sorry to inform you that the MVCFD85 Camera does not have a Memory Stick slot. The medium using in the Mavica FD camera is floppy disc.
The MSAC-FD2M floppy disk adapter can be used in some FD Mavica digital cameras. With the help of the above mentioned Floppy disc adapter, you can insert a memory stick inside the adapter and insert it in to the floppy disk drive on the camera.
You can manually install the universal usb driver for mavica camera. basically you connect the fd92 and wait for the failure report. then manually select the usb driver from the list. this will install the memory card as a flash drive and enable you to copy pictures to your hard drive.
You're not doing anything wrong. Sometimes it's just hard to see to LCD.
You could try turning down the brightness, or turning off the backlight,
but that doesn't work very well either.
There are sun shields for sale.
I have a FD-88 also, And so far I've been able to see the screen ok in
sunlight. But It's winter in Minnesota so the sun is low in the sky,
and I can normally shade the screen with my body.
Hope this helps.
