Question about Apple iBook G4 Mac Notebook
That's a kernel panic, which means there's probably a problem with your operating system. Use the original disks to reinstall the OS.

You may have installed something in the startup items folder that your mac isn't liking.
When you turn the iBook on, press the shift key as soon as you hear the startup tone. hold it down until you see the gray apple screen. This will get you into safe mode, hopefully then you'll be able to fix whatever you did from there. If you are still at a loss, get in touch.

It looks like you have a hardware related problem. have you tried anything since? I would guess that the hard drive is dead. Tell me if I'm wrong!

You have a corrupt operating system and it's automatically booting into safe mode. I recommend you take your laptop to an Apple store, they will be able to restore the OS for you. If you're in the Washington DC area, feel free to contact me through my website.

The blue screen marks the start of the login process. If the Mac freezes there, it usually indicates that some third-party System Preference is hanging the boot process. There are several ways to diagnose the problem. The simplest is to hold down the Shift key after hearing the boot chime. This will disable third-party System Preferences and should allow you to come up to the login screen. Then you can review the third-party preferences and go to the website of each of them to make sure you have the most up-to-date version that is compatible with your level of the Mac OS.
